Whoever thinks this deal with Suns wasn't preplanned is living in fairyland Carro was on to it bigtime nothing to do with burnout as she said it was a change of club and Dimma is entitled to it. What I don't like is this bs burnout. I didn't buy it feels like he jumped ship a bit to. Forever great full for those flags , but his not immune to criticism like some here portray.

Agree.

I've said it for a while - I love Dimma for what he did for the club. He changed everything for us. But i am not 100% sure i trust him from 2020 on.

Dude cheated on his wife with a younger work colleague in the hub, made a lot of people lie/cover for it ..... you can't trust a guy fully that does that and not be surprised when he gives you a lil bite on the hand on the way out.

Dimma is just a man, unfortunately. Did great stuff for this club, but has done other s**t too and will do more - most likely for someone else.

This is big "footy".. Short for football. Australian rules in particular. Where the pinnacle is premierships. Gale and Peggy deserve huge credit for their post 2016 decision not to sack dimma. And 3 flags followed. In an era of stupid rule changes. Then COVID hit and the hubs happened. We managed to win another flag. I got to see flags in 72 and 73 but living near the gold coast I got to see more football than I'd seen in decades. Including the flag.
Dimma separates. I could not care. He's not perfect. Well I can think of Graeme Richmond king hitting drunk kids, Francis Bourke doing the same at his pub. Rex Hunt.. great footballer, great commentator but his marriage breaks down. Whatever. Half marriage end in divorce

Yes bc it was a back door agreement as it saves a lot of embarrassment and hassle for both parties. Nobody wants the dirty linen thrown about the town.

He talked about deciding to a "few weeks earlier" - he gave up a bit quick for mine especially considering the $10m / 14 year investment he pushed for only 6 months earlier, kinda looked like once it was apparent the trades were not the "magic bean" he & everyone had hoped to give him his "last dance" fairytale, he decided to take the GC offer.

It's been evident to me, almost immediately, since the Eagles game 2021, that something had broken. The performances the months that followed reinforced it so much. They broke in such a specific way you could tell it was terminal. As the club has worked through itself since that moment, we have gotten stronger, but that same trait has lingered. We lost our "clutch", which was the defining factor which made us a dynasty. We were ******* Clutch.

Since that 2021 moment, we have been more cuck than clutch. We have lost nearly every important close game - every game feels ******* hectic. The Chaos Kings had lost control. Our Dynasty era, when fully told, will be an all-timer i think.

Here at BF we bitch and moan. A lot. We barely like 50% of our own supporters most of the time. But, i never question everyones passion for this or their own club. It's a bloody weird thing to do - write words on the internet - about a subject for 100's of hours, especially if you don't truely care. But there are always 2 camps. Those who fight for what they want to happen VS those who fight for what they think NEEDS to happen. A rebuild has been required since 2021 & instead we continued to push for "1 more". I know the fans wanted "1 more", but we always NEEDED to start rebuilding ASAP, as our 2017-19 drafts were becoming apparent to be (somewhat) a bust, we had lost & traded too much depth for peanuts & we had a massive age and talent hole forming in our list.

I reckon Dimma quitting mid contract to take on an agreed deal with an opponent should, probably, tarnish your reputation with that club. He has an insane amount of runs on the board for it to not be a terminal thing - he will always be welcome for reunion stuff - but while he is working foran opponent - the bro-mance s**t ends. He is a bigger threat to our club than any other coach in the league due to his strong relationships with our staff and players.

I didn't watch Suns press conference. So Dimma has started caretaker coaching already?

I didn't care that Tommy Hafey coaching at other clubs. Pies got close a few times.

Sad that we couldn't keep Sheedy but weak oppo clubs always want IP from successful clubs. Like we did with our coach and assistant coaches

The Suns have never been, will never be successful. No historical rivalry. Dimma going there will make zero difference

The one’s I can think of are; Matthews, Malthouse, Parkin, Barrassi and Jeans. Anyone else?

Its my closest AFL ground. They've developed the area into a sporting precinct. Not a bad grandstand. Small crowds mean you can get close to the field.

With a big crowd, roads are a bit blocked at the end.

I do remember Guy McKenna probably having the most success with them. I guess Dimma is a bigger fish than their previous coaches.
