& here in lies the organizational nightmare for Peggy & Ben - keeping all parties aligned to put the RFC first

& this will not be easy when factions are already developing

I know Trent is a professional & can no doubt continue working with Dimma. But if his wife is aggrieved, & perhaps even privately he disapproves of Damien's actions - it is no doubt going to distract him

Then other players will side with Dimma ... rinse & repeat, the ultimate result is a simmering, accruing tension that begins to permeate everything that happens within the club

That is the real issue here. His kids are adults and as such would be extremely angry at his treatment of their mother. I feel most for Danielle. Childhood sweetheart, gave him the best years of her life, stuck with him through our terrible years only to be dumped now he’s had success. I hope she can quickly get over this and move on but I doubt she ever will. That’s the reality of marriage break ups. They happen all the time but that doesn’t make it any easier on the individuals involved. There really are no winners in this. Even Alex will feel immense pressure and this new relationship will be extremely difficult to maintain. Good luck to all.

To play devil’s advocate, we don’t know what the relationship was like behind closed doors, and how Dimma and Danielle treated each other.

Everyone thinks my mother is an angel even though she’s an emotionally abusive cheater (and the post by Danielle is exactly something my mum would post). My brothers and I couldn’t have been happier when dad left because we knew the relationship was toxic. But if you take my mum’s word for it, dad is literally the worst human being who ever lived.

Now I’m not saying Dimma was right in his actions by any means. It’s possible, though, that he’s a victim as well, because we don’t have both sides of the story and probably never will. If he has cheated on his loving wife for no good reason, he’s definitely lost my respect. But we’ll likely never know for sure.

Every smart man is guilty of not telling their misses when they have done something not right or stupid. Eg shit hair cuts , clothes or cooked a shit meal . Whilst also you are laughing inside when someone else tells them exactly what you think whilst playing the consoling husband . It’s not a sign a weakness is doing the best thing possible for a good life .
It gets complicated when your kids become young adults and are brutally honest and your ability to stop declines .

I am curious what other people think.

When Dimma had his press conferences and every now and then he would use a Mrs Hardwick reference did others think it was a little weird?

I know it was different and I know some had sexual connotations for humour relief but even so did some think this was suggestive something was amiss.

Maybe the relationship had issues which is why the Mrs was on Dimma's mind in the press conference.

It will be interesting if a reporter requests feedback in respect to Dimmas female half on a footy issue the next time he has a press conference

Maybe I am reading too much into it but maybe he used the reference as a deflection at times while drawing on the fact some of the players would have been at Dimmas home, makes in interesting in hindsight

In all likelihood, Danielle is a lovely person. I'm just pointing out that we don't know the full story and all may not be as it seems. I guarantee that there were many people who would have said the same thing about my parents. Some people are very good at keeping the public image of being a perfect husband/wife. As I said, she's probably really nice and doesn't deserve to go through any of this, but I also don't think we should make assumptions about either Damien or Danielle based on gutter journalism and vague social media posts.
