Really, like it is your business.

Not concerns me so much, let me re-phrase that I think it concerns the club then > with respect to the alleged 'tension' and staff feeling 'rocked'.

Apparently Mrs Hardwick was well known and liked at the club, so if Dimma had an affair then that could well be the case.

If they were already split then I doubt there would be any tension.

Funny how all the articles are saying that it may be causing issues at Richmond, particularly within the playing group, even though that is 100% speculation.
It is something that I'm sure Peggy and Benny will be watching for. 90% probably won't care but 10% might need a bit of attention to be comfortable with the situation.

I'm sure they're already planning for that based on the club statement that it's within club policy.

It doesn't feel like this is new to them if she was up there GF week so they may have already addressed it with staff and players what the expectations are in this situation.

Effectively been ticked off by the club as not breaking any club policies and now becomes a private matter

They read it on the main board

As the days pass - im more and more convinced hell is real, and hell is a Twitter account.

Every social media platform has redeeming qualities deep in the surface.

Facebook - connect with family
Instagram - connect with family with mostly photos
Tiktok - amusing and not so amusing short clips
Snapchat - the cheaters app, dimma and bucks probably have one of these

But twitter,

There is NOTHING good about Twitter. It should be banned by all world governments and killed off. Id give Zuckerburg TIMES person of the year if he bought out Twitter and killed it off for us.
So you've called dimma a cheater on the basis of some shit you read on bigfooty or twitter?

So weird this is even such a big deal. More people than every get divorced and work place relationships are extremely common.

sometimes I think in sensitive articles like this, the author will be cautious in what they explicitly say

So two things stand out

1)

It’s understood senior figures have raised concern about the relationship after it was confirmed last month that Hardwick split from wife Danielle, with whom he shares three children.

2)

Danielle Hardwick, who was often referred to affectionately as Mrs Hardwick, is a much loved figure around Tigerland. She and their two daughters spent Christmas morning with the family of Tigers captain Trent Cotchin. Cotchin’s wife Brooke posted a picture of the Hardwick girls with their children calling them “second fam”. On the post Danielle commented: “What a special Christmas morning. Our hearts are full. Love you Cotchins.”

It's not a stretch to infer here that Trent Cotchin, the dedicated family man, is less than impressed with Dimma's conduct. & in the fall-out, they have thrown their support behind Danielle

Really, personal tension between coach & captain spells potential disaster to group harmony

This I think will be the biggest challenge our incredible administration will have to overcome if we are to continue with on-field success

Or it's Brooke that is really close with the Hardwick daughters and they thought would be right to invite Danielle to give them a sense of normalcy on Christmas Day to be all together?

We really don't know.

Personally, I think that's a massive stretch. For one, I don't see why the author would have any more information about this regarding tensions between Cotchin and Dimma, so this is simply an observation. Secondly, why does Cotch have to take sides here? He can still be close with both Dimma and Danielle. And that's assuming there are even sides to take. We don't know that there has been any infidelity at all; that's just an assumption at the moment, and will likely never be more than that.

You're right, I am completely speculating, but I don't think my narrative is out of the question. Journalists are usually pretty good at telling us things in non-libelous ways

I guess the key unknown is whether their relationship ended at the hand of infidelity - If I was a betting man I would say infidelity is what I would put my money on

Private matter between a single man and his new partner I say.

Marriages end and it’s certainly not impossible that those who know both parties stay on good terms with both after the split.

The club has said officially that it has no issue with the new relationship on a professional level.

No more to be done here unless your a muck raking dumpster diver looking to fill space with a few cheap headlines.

Good luck to Dimma and his ex with trying to shield the kids and separate in a mature manner. The media filth will spread this across the papers for months, Bartel style.

agree...and also for all we know, Cotch could have invited ALL Dimma clan to spend Xmas with them not taking any sides but Dimma thought...nah...bit awkward so declined.

From the reports it looks like the relationship was well known by the time the GF was played. Said staffer joined the premiership celebrations. Cotch doesn't look to p'ed off here-

As I thought, smelled too much like the media's tiptoeing around the Rhyce Shaw thing, had to be something to this one.

'the club has ticked it off' 'the club believes it is different to Lethlean'...the response will inevitably be: 'well they would say that, wouldn't they'

I don't agree with it, but I believe they will come for Dimma until either he or the girl leaves the club.

Or maybe like a Barnaby Joyce situation, Dimma won't leave but will have to take a step back from being the public face of the club.

Feel for the wife and kids more than anything, glad the Cotchins reached out to them around Xmas.

Yeah - that is an interesting point. It is obviously only public as of today, but some of this could have been causing friction within the club 12 months ago

For all we know, within the club, all parties may have broken bread

I honestly agree there, but I've accepted that we'll probably never know and it's not really our business anyway. Obviously, people are free to speculate all they want, but as far as I'm concerned there's little point worrying that it will tear the fabric of the club apart or anything. Simply too many unknowns to have any idea how the players will be impacted by this, if at all. Even if we were to finish 18th in 2021 I doubt anybody will be able to say this definitely had any impact.
