Dunno if someone's already posted this tweet but there's been plenty of talk that this was the case. Doesn't seem like an overly complicated situation, he's been reasonably open about wanting to play back home in WA ever since we first heard he'd be traded.

Richmond supporters seem to be mostly pushing the idea that Harley's done something bad all of a sudden to warrant them dropping out of the race which is desperate & pathetic.

Oh .... Wow... So hodge, Ablett Jnr, Mitchell, Hannebery etc wouldn't get a gig in your ideal lineup?

It takes a good mix to build a dominant team. We need lachie or a lachie type and we need outside line breaking long kicking pace too. Can't wait to see Neale feed the ball to Mundy who hits Bennell surging forward for a goal from outside fifty!

You really don't watch footy very closely do you? Over summer you should watch some replays of the Home and away season concentrating on Lachie and then come back and tell us he's not important.

I am a huge Barlow lover but it's a bit funny that he's said Lachie Neale makes too many clangers and then says he needs to be like Barlow..who arguably has poorer disposal the Lachie.

Lachie Neale is a bloody good player. He didn't make the AA squad for no reason. He's pivotal for our future.

I think people forget that for a long period Mitchell was criticised for not being 'damaging' enough. At 22 Neale is arguably ahead of the curve and with fyfe and others pushing for improving alongside him I think we can be confident he will only grow more effective in his afl point guard type role.

Don't think we can underestimate the power of elite players pushing each other. When fyfe is acclaimed as the best player in the league and still talking about improving both physically and in play... That's got to be motivating for the rest of the team.

Lachie Neale, Fremantle. Never previously All Australian. 22 games in 2015. 303 kicks, 109 marks, 302 handballs, averaging 13.8 kicks, 5.0 marks, 13.7 handballs (eighth in the AFL in total disposals). 15 Goals, 10 Behinds. 130 Clearances, 64 Inside 50, 45 Rebound 50m. 83 Tackles.

A little over 27 disposal average. Disposal efficiency 75.4%
Total clangers 49 or roughly 2 per game (taken from 24 games). An average of 2 clangers per game from 27 disposals isn't terrible especially as he's predominantly inside and would do a lot of his passing under pressure and in congestion.

Let's just compare that with a few others

Scott Pendlebury 28.9 disposals, DE 76.4% Averages 2 clangers per game.
Patrick Dangerfield (2015 All Australian) 26.8 disposals, DE 67.3 Averages 3.3 clangers per game
Daniel Hannerbery (2015 AA) 30 disposals 71.2% DE, Ave 2.4 Clangers per game.
Matt Priddis (2015 AA) 29.6 disposals 69.9% DE, ave 3.1 Clangers per game.
Andrew Gaff (2015 AA) 29.5 disposals 70.9% DE, ave 2.2 clangers per game.
Sam Mitchell (2015 AA) 31.2 disposals 73.1% DE, ave 3.7 clangers per game.
Nat fyfe (2015 AA and all around footy god) 28.7 disposals, 69.6% DE and 3.7 clangers per game.
Jordan Lewis 28.9 disposals 71% DE and 3.4 clangers per game
David Mundy (2015 AA and Greek God Alum) 26.9 disposals 73.3% DE and 2.1 Clangers per game.
Michael Barlow (put him in just for you) 22.9 disposals 68.5 DE% and 1.9 clangers per game.

I could go on, but even blind freddy should be able to see that Neale makes less clangers and has a DE that's on par and in some cases better than some of the better mids in the game. Honestly, I'm surprised that you feel he's such a spud.

How many 22 year olds were there in the AA squad this year?

Edit: Just looking at those figures makes me think Lauchie was robbed this year not getting a spot. His figures are pretty much the same as Mundy. Had Better DE than virtually everyone on this list. Not to mention being top 10 in the league for overall disposals.

What he would do for our mids especially hill has been discussed. I think a fit and in form Bennell also creates havoc in the forward line while making life easier for ballas and walters. He makes it a pick your poison for opposing coaches in the midfield and the forward line.

Just Harley this offseason is a game changer. He would be by far the best recruit we've added. Add McCarthy to that.... Drooool

I can understand not rating Dawson but not rating Neale is just staggering.
