Has an AFL decision/policy ever cost your club a potential flag?

Not sure if already mentioned, but the change to the centre circle after a few rucks getting PCL injuries significantly reduced the advantage Jeff White had at centre square bounces. May not have cost us a flag but who knows.

I'm pretty sure Dank's supposed links to Geelong are the AFL's best example of the Mandela effect. There are even people who genuinely think he was employed at the club!

lmao shut the **** up shill account

Punishing Carlton when they did for breaking the salary cap

If they announced that between the Kane Johnson trade (Kane Johnson for Jason Torney, pick 2, pick 18 and pick 32) and the Wayne Carey trade (Wayne Carey for pick 2 and pick 18) Getting Daniel Wells into that Crows team could've nabbed us at least 1 of 2003, 2005 or 2006.

Though, if they announced it before the draft in anyway.
Would getting Daniel Wells have made a difference for Richmond?
Would they still have received Kane Johnson?

I wonder how things would've been different for these 2 clubs (And North Melbourne) if the timing of that announcement was different.

Note - It has been said that if we knew we were trading pick 2 for Carey, we wouldn't have done it. But as we thought we were trading pick 4, we did it.

The VFL/AFL's equalisation policies were brought in in the late 80s almost purely to curb our dominance. If they weren't brought in we'd probably be sitting on 20+ flags by now.

It's not a complaint, it's better for the comp overall.
