Their back line is still really really bad at defending outside of Weitering and Saad (assuming we count Cincotta as a tagger rather than defender). They brought Haynes in but he's another medium who doesn't defend that well, like McGovern and Kemp, and drafted Harry O'Farrell who will probably take some time.

Yeah, Smith adds some speed to their midfield (which they definitely need), but I think Kennedy is a bigger loss than many think because Cripps, Walsh, Cerra and Smith are all ball hunters at heart with Hewett the only real defensive inside mid there. It's strong offensively, so they'll need to dominate the midfield most weeks.

Their key forwards are excellent. Their small forwards, inconsistent at best when they're even on the park. I think they should have stayed where they were in the draft and taken Joe Berry and Murphy Reid/Bo Allen but they took the gambit.

Overall, they're close to the end for this group. 2025/26 will be crucial

Cowan and Boyd are solid defenders down back. Ollie Hollands being trialled down there too which will be interesting re his defensive ability. I suspect Cowan becomes more than solid this year, he's in phenomenal condition this off season and naturally very adept at the role.

Small forwards are still a major concern.
