I have searched but cannot find a bigger 3 consecutive games total attendance with the same club involved than collingwood achieved this year.
They had just under 292,000 spectators watching them in the final 3 games this year,,,Geelong 98,774 ,
Saints (draw) 100,292' and
Saints replay 92,568

Can any one team top this that anyone knows about, for a local game it sure stands tall in world sporting eyes ,so challenge is out,can any side outdo the mighty pies faithful supporters in a 3 week total, anywhere ,any sport any time?

How often do they get filled by domestic sporting events?

More than once a year?

i remember the world cup qualifier in iran had 140K all male spectators a few yrs back, not sure about comfort levels though, i certainly wouldnt want to be doing no2s in the toilet thats for sure!!

Even salt lake stadium would have larger figures for club games.
I don't have time to do any research.

It has a few club teams that play there though from memory.

It's capacity is 120k, so it would need to be almost to capacity 3 weeks in a row with the same team involved. Not sure that India's national footbeam team gets that support, but it seems crowd figures are hard to find in India.

I thought IPL might be a chance but formal attendance records are hard to find.

For the population and considering the number of teams concentrated in one city, AFL is incredible for drawing crowds, and it seems that a percentage higher than anywhere attends games in Melbourne.

Some college football teams definitely get better attendances than some NFL teams, and a few stadiums have a capacity at or around 100k. I reckon many of these teams are far more tribal than AFL supporters, because they are all based in the location.

I will have to visit this bizarre universe one day!
Since 2002, the Penn State Nittany Lions, playing out of Beaver Stadium, have had 10 crowds of 109k-110k.

In 2002, 1,257,707 watched Penn State Games across the season (13 games).

I think the highest NFL team is about 90k average for home games, and high 70s home and away.

The stadium itself is the third most populous place in the whole state on game days.

The college stadiums are mostly bench seats, the NFL stadiums are more 'fan friendly' (wider seats, more premium seats etc).
Doesn't take away from the fact that they can get so many people to go to local football.
