Find it a bit odd questions re ‘what have we gotten out of tassie’. Someone more motivated than me can dig up the figures, but including memberships it’s been worth tens of millions over the journey.

I should have stated originally I don't really mean financially in that aspect.

Crowds were pretty average down there for a fair amount of time and I just would have expected a more loyal and larger fan base after our successful era was more my point.

Was watching the India A vs Aust A the other day on Fox cricket that complex they have at Mackay is brilliant every bit as good as Mars in Ballarat , be interesting to play a preseason up there see how much interest there is .

There’s probably been a drop off in Victorians and others travelling there. Club reckons even current half filled stadium is more sold out than it looks

Was finished last year. Not sure if is as good as Mars. Only 2000 seats.

Playing in North or far North Queensland is not a good idea. The humidity makes for slippery and energy sapping games. Plus it is a long way to travel. One trip to Cairns is as much time in the air as our four Tassie games combined. Pass.

Not exactly Hawthorn related but wonder if ee start cutting our Tassie games aswell

Is wish Hawthirn was included amongst the clubs to play more MCG games. Geez I hope we are lobbying for this.

And with North exiting Hobart after next season, I would like us to split our Tassie games between Launceston and Hobart in 2026/27, especially given the reduced capacity of York Park during redevelopment. And when Tassie come in, if we are to host them over there, surely it would be better to do so at the fancy new stadiums, rather than York Park. Perhaps we could do a North/WA like deal where we host the Devils in Hobart then another club in Launceston. That would certainly be better than multiple games in Cairns.

There is absolutely no justification for Cairns, and if a club like North Melbourne can get 9 games in Melbourne, there really isn’t any grounds for us to only have 7 after the current deal

The deal North have negotiated makes our Tassie sponsorship look pretty rubbish from 2026 onwards......
Making comparisons with North on anything is the last thing you want to do.

I would prefer all games returned to Melbourne.

But what posters need to also understand is that the WA & Qld teams have /are pushing hard for a rotation of Vic teams to play a ‘home’ game in their state to reduce their travel each year.

By North taking up this deal, it eliminates that issue.

Although the deal was for a clean stadium for the Vic clubs when playing in WA & Qld.
Meaning our members would have 1st access to tix & opposing club members/supporters would have to pay.

Good $$ for the club when playing any side except suns
