So when was the last time a hawks team played well in Queensland? I can’t think of one. It’s not like for like 72% winning in Launceston. It’s the move of a club desperate for money…which we are continually told we are not

Edit. 2 good games in 25 years. And some almighty smashing

Can't win games in Queensland if you don't play games in Queensland.

To put the 2 good games in 25 years into context (not sure where you get 2 from btw), 8 of those years we didn't play a single game in QLD vs either Brisbane or GC. Also you need to put into context the times we did/didn't play in QLD which I believe skews the figures a fair bit.

The majority of the games we played in the past 25 years including an unbroken run from 2000-2008 was when we were going through a period of rebuilding and eventually climbing to win the Premiership in 2008, which in no coincidence was also when we won at the Gabba proving that good teams can win in QLD. It's also no coincidence that when we were poor in the early 2000's, Brisbane were three-peating and were nearly unbeatable at the Gabba so expecting to have a good amount of wins in that period up here from the team we had is asking a hell of a lot.

From 2009 to 2015 when we were on the rise (after the blip which was 2009 I should add) and then threepeated ourselves, we played ZERO games at the Gabba against a largely struggling Brisbane team and 2 games vs Gold Coast (2011, 2014) both of which we won. Imagine how many more games we would of won up here with a dominating Hawthorn side and a Brisbane team ripe for the picking? Guess where these games went?

From 2016 onwards with the team on decline/rebuilding and Brisbane then later GC on the rise we've played Brisbane/GC 6 times (3 each) for just 1 win in 2016 being our only appearance in QLD that year and our one last hurrah from that goldern era. It was downhill from there.

So of course you can't remember the last time we've played well in QLD because since 2009 we've played 8 games in 16 years! And couple that with the respective sides meeting up here at "the wrong time" the record is skewed as if there is some kind of hoodoo up here we can't break. It's nonsence.

It would never be the 74% wins of Tassie. I’m quite confident of that. If that’s over, it’s over. There's no replacement

Anyway enjoy Saturday, one of three local games in something like 2 months
