Jeka, Morris, Lynch, Serong and Bramble, for mine. Maginness might be in the gun too.
Bramble playing would suggest probably not, tho I don't disagree. Maginness would be closer IMO.

I can't see a spot for Maginness on the list, too many players have passed him now same for Morris.

Jeka unless he dominates at box hill the remainder of the year has his papers stamped.

Interesting to see if Ryan gets another contract given he was only a 6 month initial deal.

Plenty of players are delisted each year that were given senior games though.
Yeah but Bramble seems different at least in the eyes of the coaches. He's been played despite alternatives, ahead of others. Only reason I wouldn't bet on it.

Jeka was good off CHB again. He has another half of a season to save his career but **** me is it frustrating waiting for the penny to drop.

He’s an annoying one because unlike others, the upside if it did click is quite high. Has a couple months to save himself. Should be eyeing off Frost’s spot - they are polar opposites in strengths and weaknesses.

I like Morris but unfortunately looks like he will have to be chopped, although I think we should go back to playing him as a forward.
If it was up to me it would be Lynch, Jeka, Morris with Maginness right in the firing line.

I think Bramble has some really strong qualities. He's really creative and Sam is filling the team with players like this.

I don't like seeing wingman like Amon and Bramble in the last line of defence but it seems to work. They sweep around the back and create effect exits. Bramble is really good at this. Morrison is also good at this. Also creates the overlap run along the boundary as well as anyone on the list.

Depth is needed on the wings. They're as important as rucks and too many people think you can just chuck any old midfielder or half back there. For example - CJ could definitely get the ball and run and deliver inside 50 - but I don't think he's across the end to end running that maintains our shape and stretches an opposition defense. Likewise with Ward.

So do I. His shoulder operation just came at the wrong time. Interrupted preseason and he's just been a bit behind.

Morris had a run of good form then got injured and now Seamus has passed him. Morris is a goer and Hardwick is getting older. I would not be rushing him out the door.
Hardwick is about 26. You don't hold onto a Back Pocket like Morris because your current BP only has 6yrs left In his career.

Damian Barrett - 28/03/23

I used the phrase at one stage last week that it’s a form of tanking, what (Hawthorn’s) going down the path of, and I’m not backing away from that”.

Damian Barrett - 11/06/23

I really messed up with that statement, I now see it was nonsensical, and I’m sorry and I apologise.

I can now appreciate the Hawks’ innovative and longer term thinking. Without cutting players like O’Meara, Mitchell, Gunston, (and Shiels and Howe who Clarko wanted to clog up the North list), players like Nash, Brockman, Weddle, Butler and Mackenzie would not have been getting the valuable game time they’ve had so far this year. I now understand that forward thinking and that it’s paying dividends by the truckload”.

Only joshing of course😀
There’s no way in the world that blinkered w***er would ever make a statement like that.

"When I said that Hawthorn is engaged in a form of tanking, I hadn't realised how completely incapable the team is of carrying out instructions. Their recent performances reflect very poorly on the coaching group. There is no doubt in my mind that they go into each game intending to lose, preferably by a large margin, but they lack the skills to execute the game plan."

I think we need another very high quality key position player.

Lewis is one.
Sicily can be another but we prefer him to roam.

It would be good to find someone who is a significant upgrade on Kosi or Blanck
We need one at each end and then a third tall forward, I feel good about the rest of our list.

I don't think Jeka has a single fast-twitch muscle fibre in his whole body...
