plus Mitchell needs to be in the middle for this match and not at half back.
this.

seems that teams are placing more importance on setting up across half back and less on the centre clearance but for mine we are a better side with Mitch in the middle.

Plays some ridiculous games against us where every little thing seems to go his way. Marks fall into his hands. Kicks arsey goals and he celebrates like a dickhead just to rub it in.

He is also partial to lifting the knee into opposition players backs or stomachs (Renouf) and yet it seems to get overlooked every time. Now if that were Buddy.....

Channel 7 were at training today following around Coach Clarkson today. May have even got footage of 4 grumpy old men who Clarko referred to as "the selectors".

Looks like 4 ins and 3 out with the 4th possible out or 4th possible non inclusion to be one very unlucky player.

Ceglar, Shiels, Ellis and ??? out

Bailey, Rioli, Puopolo and Guerra in.

With Grimley or Ceglar to be named as one of the emergancies.

Question mark over roughy?

So little respect around here for a team that has absolutely creamed us mentally for the last 5 years.

Geelong are a seriously good team and Chris Scott is a seriously good coach. This is easily our biggest game since the GF. Arguably our 2nd biggest game of the last 3 years.
Disagree with the last two sentences.

I know you're arguing that it would have a disproportionate mental impact on the Hawks players to lose to the pussies again. But I think that just feeds into the fabricated 'curse'.

There is who is the better team on the day.

There is who gets the benefit of the umpiring.

Then there is luck.

Add them all up and you get the winner. Unfortunately for us, on the few occasions we were better, umpiring and luck conspired against us.

This is just another regular season game. No different to 4 points against GWS. We already lost 4 points to Geelong in Round 1. If we win, we win. If we lose, we lose.

But we're on top of the ladder already, which gives us the best chance to finish in the top 4, a requirement for a shot at a GF.

If we meet Geelong in a final, then it becomes our biggest game since the GF. Just like every final.

And if we make a GF, not only do we need to be better than our opponent, we need to be better than the scumbag umpires who have put us on the wrong side of the ledger in many of the close ones versus Geelong, and we need to be better than lady luck, who deigned to bounce Sh!tney's way in the GF last year.

Our game plan need to keep them from scoring multiple goals in a row without spending all of our tickets in the first half. Then we need to put a massive shut-down effort on guys like Selwood and Bartel who always lift in the 2nd half against us and almost win the game off their own efforts.

I don't think there is little respect for Geelong on this board per se. You can't not admire a team that has beaten us consecutively.

Having said that, I feel this year we genuinely have a better team than they do. In the past, I don't think it's necessarily been the case despite us hoping it was. Not that it counts for anything Saturday night. Will still be a torrid tussle.

Hmm, 4th one Savage maybe? Hope not.... but probably need to bring Guerra back in if fit.

Sick or Lonergans illegal holding of Buddy.

Hopefully the umpire calls some frees early or Longergan will keep it up all night.

Just imagine if Gibson/Strats/Lake did the same at the other end.

WELCOME BACK SIZZLINGTON RIOLI...

Match fitness has to be a worry for the little dynamo after missing was it 9 weeks? I would start him and plan to sub him in the 3rd Q.

He's named as starting on the field so I doubt it.

I reckon Simpkin will get it, again.
