Hawthorn is on average older and more experienced than their Cats' counterparts, but the Cats have an edge in physical height and weight.

If Hawthorn plays as named, it will take into the game 12 players with 100 or more games of experience (Guerra, Gibson, Birchall, Mitchell, Lewis, Franklin, Osborne, Hale, Sewell, Burgoyne, Bateman and Roughead) and one player with 200 or more games (Guerra). Geelong will play nine players with 100 or more games (Enright, Mackie, Corey, Selwood, Stokes, Chapman, Johnson, Bartel and Kelly) and four players with 200 or more games (Enright, Corey, Chapman and Bartel).

Hawthorn will play with one player with 10 or less games (McCauley) and eight players with 50 or less games (Stratton, Schoenmakers, Suckling, Smith, Savage, Gunston, McCauley and Breust). Geelong will play with five players with 10 or less games (Smedts, Motlop, Brown, Guthrie and Stephenson) and 10 players with 50 or less games (Smedts, Hunt, Motlop, Duncan, Podsiadly, West, Brown, Christensen, Guthrie and Stephenson).

Hawthorn's three most experienced players (Guerra, Mitchell and Burgoyne) together account for 27.8% of Hawthorn's total experience. Geelong's three most experienced players (Corey, Chapman and Enright) together account for 33.5% of Geelong's total experience.

Hawthorn will take into the game seven players 190cm or taller (Birchall, Schoenmakers, Franklin, Hale, Gunston, McCauley and Roughead). Geelong will play with nine players 190cm or taller (Lonergan, Mackie, Taylor, Corey, Hawkins, Podsiadly, West, Brown and Stephenson).

Anyone think Rough could be the sub?

I think there's a good chance he will be.

Probably is a good chance of it, but personally, I don't see the logic behind it. Unless he comes on & goes forward; I guess it then expends on who he replaces.

Why is there 2 sets of numbers - what's the difference?

I still don't think Cheney plays nearly as hard as he reportedly supposed to, and his disposal is sometimes questionable. If he's in the side, I want to see him more desperate than I've witnessed in the past.
I think his limited opportunities (which in a twisted way, is a good thing because it means we've got high competition for each spot) have played a part in that - I think at times he's been pressured because he feels that he's got one chance to show that he's worth being in the squad, and if he makes one disposal that's poor, the pressure racks up...and then you're more likely to make another.

I thought he was wonderfully composed in the game when he slotted the goal, and if he can string a few games together, I think you'll see him relax into the game more. I think he's a solid unit with a lot to offer; fingers crossed he gets a bit of game time in the future.

You would not know the first thing about how or why a player ends up on the trade table. What a completely illogical and nonsensical post.
Enlighten me Einstien ?
If player is under performing and there are many others who are, and play a similar pozzie, then why would they kept on a list?
We now have depth, perform or play for BHH. If your not happy with being an emergency or depth player and believe you have more to offer, then perform or look else where. Yes i believe the BHH should be a top 6 team in the vfl with the experience it has running around. Yes i believe a player like Murphy, young and Ellis should be in the best every week because we know what they are capable of. If they are not injured, they should be in the best every week as they have far greater experience than alot of others in the team. Thats my opinion, yours may differ, who is right will only be determined by time. I for one couldnt give a rats toss bag about half the dribble thats talked about on this board, armchair experts.

Are you blokes seriously having an argument over a player listed as an emergency???

Seriously.....

Sub will be a very interesting call.. I would run with Super Sub Bruest.. We need to "SLOW PLAY" the Cats a little and come home with a wet sail (i.e. full of running)

In the last 7 games we have thrown everything at the from the opening bounce and then tried (in vein) to hold on...

It has been a remarkably quiet week from my 'Bagger-supporting friends this week. No customary smart-arsery, no snide remarks, not a single peep. Anyone would think their team had a bye this week. Oh how quickly they fall off the wagon in Sleepy Hollow. ;)

I hope not. I'd rather see him play a whole game for BH, get through and wake up the next day feeling fine and have increased his match-day fotness, than play 35 minutes of AFL footy.

Sub is a very tough call. We may go with Gunston again and then take Roughie out of the game depending on how the game is going. Ideally I'd like to have Gunston play a full game. Ozzie sub for mine. Can come on and have an impact like Breust has done, however I feel Breust has offered more defensive pressure in our forward line so he should get a full game.

It's quite possible that the sub will come from either Osborne or Breust, one of them will don the yellow vest, possibly Osborne, no way will Gunston or Roughead get it. We will probably start something like this when the first ball is bounced.

CHF: Franklin
FP: Gunston
FF: Roughead
R: Hale
INT: McCauley
SUB: Osborne/Breust

Just a guess.

Those figures aren't mean and median, Hawks age was listed as 25.17, and 25.36 or something. Neither of those are likely to be medians. 25 might be a median, 25.5 could be too, if there are an equal number of 25 year olds and 26 year olds.

It might be 2011 numbers and 2012 numbers.

They're not my figures but I can't see why that isn't possible.

ie if someone was 25 years and 62 days old, they would be 25.17.

The 2nd list are medians. Age is the only stat from that excerrpt that has non-integer values, and age would be converted from years/days to a decimal value and then the median of these decimal ages would be listed.
