Wrong.....BLATANTLY WRONG.

No, it explains why Geelong's ageing players continue to set high standards.
The fountain of youth?

At least you didn't need any salary cap advantages!

Geelong's management were a hell of a lot smarter than Essendon though. They took the knowledge and did everything in-house. There's no invoices, no paper-trail, no evidence, no PR manipulation of truth, nothing. They were (and possibly are) far ahead of the curve when it comes to 'rapid muscle growth, power and endurance development'.

Essendon were sold a system of proven results that was essentially 5 years old, knew that it may present a future legal issue, so tried to scenario that allowed them to create a fall guy for if/when they were caught. They were unlucky to be caught up in the periphery of another investigation of course, but that's the risk when you flagrantly flout the rules. When the time came to fess up, admit guilt and take the whack, their fall guy turns on them, dragging them with him.

The problem with this post, is that it is not true. Loris Bertolacci (who fell out with Geelong and Mark Thompson) was the guy who started the weights at Geelong, not Dean Robinson. Geelong plays had put on the weight and power, prior to 2006. During the 2006 pre-season Geelong had a very light pre-season, rumour has it at the instigation of Mark Thompson. It was a mistake. Loris was fired, sued, and there were two confidential settlements.(One with Geelong, one with a media outlet) I have heard some of the details of the settlement, but as it is confidential will not go any further). There were four significant changes prior to the 2007 season. 1) Leading teams was brought in 2) The toughest pre-season ever at Geelong, 3) Some significant players got into the 21st century, recognised they were athletes as well as footballers and changed their diet and lifestyle. These players realised that grog and cigarettes did not help the fitness base. 4) Tom Harley became captain and Joel Selwood was drafted, Yes, Dean Robinson continued the weights, but fitness levels also increased. As for those photos, on his wall, they are not hard to obtain. That rubbish you spout about no invoices, no paper trail, it is quite the opposite. If you knew anything about Colin Carter 's background (he is current president and former board member), you will know that he is all about paper trails and evidence. Ethics is a big part of the way that board runs; clearly you have put two and tow together and come up with seven.

So, Bomber, nice of you to explain.

And how are things at Essendon now?
Are you enjoying being coach, while Hird is the puppet?
