Its really strange of some of the other's that had shocking games last night, who's names haven't even had a mention, apart from the obvious..

Quite a few were well down on form and pace last night. Leaving McEvoy to do the bulk of the rucking didn't help. But, our usual clearance kings and outside runners struggled as well. So often this season, if one player had a down day another would pick up the slack. Last night, that didn't really happen. It was an error-riddled game where any momentum gained was ruined by a bad decision or a clanger. Disappointing.

With every loss it reinforces just how ridiculously difficult it is to maintain elite, flag winning form, year after year. When you're reigning premiers, you have a target on your back a mile wide. When you're reigning back to back premiers, doubly so. Relatively mediocre football sides set themselves for you, rise to the occasion, and play completely out of their skins. Especially late in the season. That was Port's Grand Final, for us it was just another game.

All is not lost, we still have a massive chance here to make history.

AFL have been consistent on that. Had he tackled, then there would be no issue.

We've had difficulty all year in games we are expected to win, maybe if we'd got 2nd we'd be underestimating the eagles in a Qualifying Final. The only thing that matters in the last few H&A rounds is getting prepared to win that Qualifying Final

Back to you guys... rather strange recruiting Ryder on top of Monfries if you weren't serious about 2015... Hopefully you guys don't put them onto the long term injury list for 2 years, as its not a "long term injury or drug cheating" list

One thing I knew was they were coming to genuinely attack us and go at it with physicality.
They hate us and are now laughing in our faces.
Our lack of intensity was evident early. One arm flung out was an "attempt to tackle". So many times players trailed into marking contests and let smaller Port players take the mark uncontested.
Love Hill but that's enough for mine. No run. No inside 50 lacing out blokes.
Ditto Suckling. Doesn't stand up. But in saying that not many did tonight
Time to reward Joffa and Jed.
A shameful performance when we had so much to play for.
And don't whinge about umpiring. lay the blame exactly where it lies. In the lap of the 22 players tonight.
We have a side who's best is the best and who when don't switch on are nothing better than a very average football side massively overrated by the football world. Our 2014 side would beat this current one by 10 goals.

Where's Langford, where's Litherland , where's Simpkins , where's Jed, why not try Lake in the forward line, any wonder Sam and Hodgey are stuffed and frustrated , they are carrying the can, there are bloody 18 cans at a time on the freaking ground .Hill , lost form out, bad kicking is bad football, fumbles nerves they need a bit of grit and desperation in that team. I'm afraid that big raking left foot of Sucklings is great , WHEN HE HITS IT OFF HIS BOOT PROPERLY. Which is not that often, lately.
The centre bounce and break , we lose too often, and the slow starts.

Time for Clarko to get the brain back in tow. We need a little tweaking here and there. And we need two real ruckmen on the ground. If Ceglar and Hale are injured why not a back up ruckman we must have one.

So we will lose Hodge for the first final.

I am a bit unsure why we haven't been calling on more players from Box Hill given some senior players are struggling with form

The worst thing is we play brisbane and Carlton. Aside from possibly being wins and not being too risky, even on the back of tonight, we will not get a great contest.
Maybe the obvious challenge of going to Perth is what we need to make us bring our A game. We certainly don't bring a backs to the wall type mentality each week. When we need to we can go but as we have found our game is defensive attack but occaisionally we just need all out attack and we don't have it.

I will never agree that that was a free kick .Using that logic if you are beaten to the contest you just have to make contact initiated by yourself with your head /neck area on the arm of the opponent who was there first and you receive a free kick opens up a whole new tin of worms and incorrect .
