Are people really believing Gold Coast suns would entertain

A 30 year old ruckman and Hawthorns 2019 first round pick and give us pick 3 this year???

Seriously people get a grip. We are living in fantasy land on here.

Of course you would be correct in such a proposition, but it is not the one that I am aware of. Sorry to disappoint you.

Let’s be clear. Nothing happens if he says no to the money. He is well
looked after within our scale

It is as unlikely as it is to happen, so let’s return to what is really happening.

Trading out McEvoy would be a dumb move. It severely weakens our chances of winning the flag next year.

Depends on what comes back the other way and who we have targeted to fill the void.

Eagles just won a flag with Lycett and Vardy. Tigers with Nankervis, and Bulldogs with Boyd.

Strong leadership from Roughead, Smith, Shiels, Gunston and Stratton required more than ever to keep that "stability" among all the "churn".

Delicate balance, and a BB departure would admittedly have us teeteering on a fine line. If entitlement and complacency were on the far left, and not enough reward and security on the far right; feel like we'd be edging toward the right at the moment.

But we can do it. In Clarko we trust.

From what we know, McEvoy has been a reluctant footballer, recently finding his passion again at the club. He was close to retiring.

His farm in Stawell and his family there are his main passions.

There may be a grandfather offer to move him... even to another state....and yet he is in the top 5 most important players at our club this year, and arguably the most important......Interesting times we live in.

I’m assuming BB is contracted for next year so any proposition (seemingly the word de jure at the minute) would simply be about the cash. And good luck to him if that’s the case. So who needs a ready made ruckman with at least 2 years in the tank?
Think about that.

I find solace in food when stressed, I think for the next two days I'm going to be hunkered down in pit master BBQ joint.
Won't be out until I've eaten a pig.

All this BB talk is ridiculous. I recall reading an article where he was considering retiring soon so he can go work his family farm. Farm people always eventually go back to that lifestyle eventually and I really couldn’t see him entertaining uprooting and joining a third club. Nice fantasy though.

Unfortunately, Harry can't play on someone like Tex walker. Neither can Sicily (not defensive minded enough). I think the one thing that Burton adds more than those guys is exceptional flexibility.

Oh well, better get used to him going...

I think you're missing the point. We are talking about Crimmo's famous #5, and who might get it if Burton goes, not a replacement for the position he plays.

Big boy is as likely to happen as the other predictions by ITK (definitely not FOS) topiary. These include "shiel will nominate us early next week", "Tom Lynch still a chance", "Burton will not be traded", "Roughead working on Hill".
