Also very interested in informed answers to this
From all reports, they are full on. I know that the medical Hogan just had here at Freo, they even had orthopaedic surgeons there. They went through all his scans. Can imagine the Hawks being very thorough. If they say they are still into Scully after the medical, which they are, then he must have done pretty well.

HAWTHORN is trying to negotiate a deal for Chad Wingard without sacrificing star youngster Ryan Burton.

The Herald Sun has confirmed the Hawks’ preference is to keep Burton at the club for next season and instead satisfy the Power with a swap of picks.

Hawthorn on Thursday offered pick No. 15 for Wingard, but that was rejected by Port Adelaide.

The Power asked for Burton, 21, as well as pick No. 15, prompting Hawthorn to speak to the versatile ballwinner about several options.

In the conversation, Hawthorn told Burton the club wanted him to stay at the club for 2019 and beyond.

But Hawthorn also gauged Burton’s interest in a possible move back home to South Australia.

It shows the Hawks are prepared to discuss the possible Burton trade with the player and his manager, Marty Pask.

Burton has some time to think about what he wants to do.

If he wants to stay at the club, Hawthorn will take Burton off the table in the negotiations for Wingard with Port Adelaide.

Burton is overseas and is yet to make a decision.

Hawthorn officials are currently working through several trade scenarios this morning in a bid to appease Port Adelaide with draft picks on their own.

Hawthorn fans have reacted angrily to suggestions Burton could be traded as part of a deal for Wingard.

LOL

Compare that to what was being reported last night...

Trade Radio scoffing at the idea of us trading out more high picks. Mentioned that we haven’t had a top 10 pick since Roughy, Buddy and Lewis.

Well guess what guys we’ve won 4 premierships since then. Obviously what we do is ****ing working.

Trade radio doesn’t need to be on all day.

Classic media beat up.

You'd think we'd have all learned by now!

My read of the whole Wingard trade is that Burton will not be involved. More likely to be pick 15, Lovell, O'Brien and potential future 3rd.

Tom Scully will likely be pick 35 and a future 2nd rounder.
That would be a dream result for us.

Sadly I don’t think this will be the case.
