We've recently brought in O'Meara, Mitchell, Wingard, Scully and Impey.

Shit that's good.

Only thing missing is a tall or two. Either we have great faith that Nash and Lewis are going to progress well this year, or Tim, at last. will believe he is good at this caper, and win a few off his own boot, or we have someone in mind.

my last point interesting how i heard a post say somewhere that the video trade radio was paid for ads last night he said that ,hence the last min deals that always happen. so everyone listens this year watch and listen, there main sponsor was carlton zero and all 3 big trades that had interviews in there house in there new teams polo had the beer in the background hashtag rigged
What? o_O

At the start of this year Brad Johnson was certain Hawthorn was a bottom 4 side :$
He is a genuine try-hard with shit footy knowledge. Leader of the group think movement. Last person I would take note of.

Johnno just can't hide his bias and he really doesn't like the Hawks much.

They all have their little favourites and their little dislikes but most of them (on Fox anyway) keep it in check. Johnno struggles with it.

The run down of the teams from Dal and BJ was some of the worst analysis I've seen. Lazy too. North got a C?? Give me a break.

After trade week and injury returns , the ins and outs compared to the side that lost to Melbourne in the SF could look like this:

In: Wingard, Scully, O'Meara, Stratton, Birchall, Ceglar
Out: Burton, Mirra, Nash, Duryea, Henderson, Howe

That is a MASSIVE quality difference (despite the loss of Burton, who was far from terrible, but 7th last ranked of our 22 on afl fantasy points for that game).

I agree the Pies have a formidable midfield group, but then I think of what we have assembled;

McEvoy
Mitchell
Omeara
Wingard
Scully
Smith
Shiels
Worpel
Howe/Henderson/Morrison/Impey

We are not too shabby.
they may have a deep midfield but there issues are still there, virtually zero depth in the key posts, I'd argue they are worse than ours. Should just play Ben Reid back there with Lynden Dunn. They are there only genuine big bodied defenders, same goes with the forward line, take out Cox and who do they have? Mihochek?. We at least have some depth at each end, may not be quality but solid nonetheless. We're closer to the pies than ppl may think. There midfield all play the same way if you think about it. Similar type of player. Ours has genuine linebreakers now and a good mix of both inside and outside.

I have to say Henderson is a lock in my best 22. His efforts have been formidable and can be used even with Scully fit

Yes, I'm a big Henderson fan, but had trouble fitting him in after Scully arrives. The only way I could do it was by dropping a younger player like Morrison/Worpel from the interchange bench, and I think long term we are better off developing Morrison/Worpel than trying to squeeze Henderson in. If Henderson does keep his spot, it would also mean we haven't transitioned a single 30+ player out of the list, which I also think is concerning. I did bring Ceglar back in, so perhaps we could play with a shorter forward line and bring in Henderson for Ceglar, rotating Henderson through wing and half forward or half back.

Unless Scully plays round 1, Henderson will definitely play games next year.

He’s only ever read about successful clubs, or watched them on TV. :D
Didn’t take him long to knife a champion from a successful club in Akermanis either.

Henderson unlucky. One of our most consistent players imo.

Very unlucky, but it was a tight squeeze with Scully coming in. Can potentially be fitted in on the bench, but only just IMO. Thought he was an essential part of the team all season, but when Scully is fit, I think we are perhaps better served by getting games into younger players. Some people thought this during the year too, but I think they were wrong, he was too important in the role he was playing not to be best 22 this year, but that doesn't erase the fact that Scully is a clear upgrade. Henderson playing will likely depend on how flexible he is, and I do see him as somewhat flexible, so perhaps Clarko will find him a spot to reward his great 2018 form.

Salt mines.
We are not playing to the script like they want us too .

Remember after 2016 the bottom was meant to fall out and we were supposed to have our ‘5 year rebuild’ loading up on top draft picks like most other clubs.
Clarko to GWS to build an AFL dynasty their
Sold the farm for JOM in the worst trade ever
No good youth

They will predict it every year in the hope that it might come true one time so they can say ‘see I told you’

We are like David Brent ‘ we don’t play by the rules’.....

Now that I think about it, perhaps he’s doing his bit to help clarko win COTY. You need low expectations at the start of the season to have a chance. Maybe he’s just doing his part to restore balance to the football universe.

Scully will be like Jom in his first year. We will barely see him, that's why they gave up nothing for him.

Kane Cornes: "I'd rate Hawthorn trade period a D+, they really missed the boat in getting Shiel and Lynch and gave away far too much for their ins....... I strongly believe the AFL need to investigate Hawthorn over the Scully deal, a top four side should not be able to bring in such a high quality player for nothing........ Hawthorn will go backwards next year and finish 16th".
I strongly believe the Australian Communications and Media Authority need to investigate AFL Trade Radio over the Kane Cornes employment deal. A media outlet should not be able to inflict such a w***er on the public.

Not too sure on Howe being left out. I believe he will take a massive step forward next year. Was very very solid last season for us. We will need his hard edge.

I think worpel takes his midfield minutes now. Worpel was quiet in those 2 finals because Howe was in there leaving him on the HFF. For mine, Howe is too slow in both body and mind to become a permanent midfielder.
