McCartney mentioned hawthorn and hawthorn only. He said they’re aware.
He will meet with Tom’s manage today to get a gauge on what Tom wants to do. We should know more tonight I reckon.

He was legit threatening the Suns to not pick them or they will come to try and poach this in 2 years... Is this guy for real? How unprofessional can you get.
As I've mentioned a couple of times now - he was the dickhead who wants the rules changed so that clubs can just move players on without their consent (i.e. trade them to a club not of their choice).

Unprofessional to say the least, and now this shit.

Ryan torn between; being at a place he wants to be, with a coach that doesn’t want him vs going to a place he doesn’t want to be, with a coach that wants him. Tough call for the lad, he’s still undecided. My gut says gone.
Thanks for the update HV. Assume this is from the horses mouth?

Ps: I’m not sure it’s a case of a coach not wanting him, more a coach wanting Wingard more.

GWS were to be $2m over the cap had they not shed players. The AFL knows this.

They've even said that salary dumps will be allowed via trade this year.

How many clubs are going to be in salary cap trouble by the end of this period. Essendon must be getting close, GWS and GC o_O are stretched, Richmond are shedding players already, Pies if they get Beams back must be maxing out, Sydney are stretched, West Coast cannot have much room.

More importantly, what clubs are going to have flexibility next year

I struggle to believe that Clarko doesn't want Burton. He had him earmarked for really great things.

The solution to that is to stay and work at showing the coach just how wrong he was

Easy thing to do is go

Surely it's Clarko's (and list management's) job to make net improvements to the team as a whole in each trade period. Sometimes that's going to mean losing one good player to improve the team overall. It says nothing about Burton's individual talent or potential, in fact it probably puts him in higher esteem.

Massive call for the kid. I really hope he stays, but i won’t hold it against him if he leaves.

Without knowing the full situation, he should stay rather than go somewhere he doesn’t want to go to this year and re evaluate at the end of his contract when he has the power.

He then has the say as to whether he stays and make the hawks pay or leave to the club of his choice (that’s the business side of me coming out!)

'we got some information to suggest Chad was going to explore his opportunities in 12 months time'

if we pay 15 + burto i'll be furious.

If we re dealing with Sdney, Geelong, Collingwood or one of the other, more professional units it would of been sorted by now. Cripps is an insecure bogan who will happily drag this out, we might get another Nick Stevens..

Cripps: we are going to send the bill to the hawks “soft cap” and all that

Personally, I thought this comment about the soft cap was to try to get a laugh. No big deal.

It was only the '100% Hawthorn' that was controversial.
