Still waiting

Changed my designated seat this year as there was no room in the aisle for my 7 year old son’s designated seat as its his first year with one.

I assume the change in seats has held it up

I am 5 years an int'l member, with a reseved seat (brown armchair in fromt of the TV). When I left Aus way back in '96 (after the infamous meeting at the Camberwell town hall to keep Hawthorn as Hawthorn).. kept my then social club membership of quite a few years, but in the days of medallions, my brother (a Richmond supporter, but has a soft spot for the Hawks) was the beneficiary.

After a few years - maybe 5, dropped the membership; Moved to Aus in 2003, and of course became a member again. this time, my partner (who is a rugby girl) and my then toddler had memberships, too. I can't remember the level, but they were reserved seats (son was a toddler and sat on our lap).

When I moved back to the UK, kept my membership which my brother used again for a while, and eventually dropped. Found out about the international membership and took it up (after a couple of years of paying the AFL more for the same benefits - yuk!).

Hopefully back in Aus this year - July-ish with my now 22 year old son.. We will have to go GA for the season, which is fine.. but blimey, the amount of different levels of membership now.. And they are on waiting lists!!!! When I left Aus, I think the Hawks had a membership of around 7,500 (I cannot recall). Look at it now - one of the powerhouses. Testament to Dickert and others after him.

Great time to be a Hawks member, and I can't wait to try a Vandenburg wine (can't get them here.. I just have to make do with Wolfie or Grant).

Went a bit off piste...

Normally I select the option to not send me the pack to save a tiny bit for the club. This year, for the 100th, there was no option.. The pack arrived shortly after Chrimbo. I have the stickers everywhere, and even on my laptop. On a train on Friday, the laptop was on and a Hawk supporter with a thick London accent plonked himself next to me, and that was the end of working..

Why are they charging $11 postage on the scarf this year?

Previous three years of this voucher code scheme to get a scarf postage was free. Before that I never paid postage when they sent the scarf. I thought the full membership covered all this.

Have complained. Waiting for a response.

I got my scarf with the membership kit. Possibly if you elect to get the hat it's different.

Got our last week- strangely my wife's came through separately to mine and the kids.

My son's came a day before mine also. Wonder if the club has investigated sending family units in a slightly bigger box (depending on the household) but all in one. There could be a decent postage saving to be had. I know I would have no issue getting it all in one kit.

Hmmm, mine and my wife’s memberships in one package.

I've always gotten the scarf but they decided to stop sending me the scarf with the membership kit years ago.

Perhaps you haven't made a nomination that you want the scarf? When they went to the scarf/hat/donate back to the club option I think you had to specify which you wanted. Maybe check with the membership department what your option is?

I must have chosen the scarf, we get it every year. But is it also tied to the membership level?

So it is - never considered that! Just took it for granted that all members got one.

Just got a reply from membership.

Thanks for taking the time to email us regarding free shipping vouchers. Unfortunately for 2025 we will not be supplying members with these vouchers. This brings us in line with most other AFL clubs who don’t supply free shipping vouchers to members.

Basically a corporate F.U.
36 years full membership. Don't get to many games. None for 3 years. And this is the penny-pinching bs they serve up. Time to bring my membership "in line with most other AFL clubs" I guess and stop being a member.

Seriously?

An $11 fee will make you stop buying a membership in support of the club?
