"Displeased" is the word for sure. He looked like he was chewing wasps last night up on stage. Happy for him to go and Andy to get even more clear air on the board. Who now for footy director? Someone from Sam's vintage who he can work and grow with or someone from "the past" like Gary Ayres to do it for a year or two?Respect to Vanders for stepping down if he's displeased with how things turned out. Last thing we need is someone who isn't aligned with the new President at best just taking up a seat and at worst actively working against him.
Eade and Schwab backed Gowers, will they be in the conversation?"Displeased" is the word for sure. He looked like he was chewing wasps last night up on stage. I prefer the highlights. Is there a recording of the AGM in full?
This is only a livestream that naturally is timed out I think. Hawthorn's AGM
Yes, I like boring things.
I prefer the highlights.
Like when the dark Emperor finally came to his end. Bitter to the last.

Yeah we would be crazy not to offer her a place but will possibly be another h4c candidate?Hoping Maria Lui takes the open board position. Was widely supported by both camps, she’s both a lawyer and an accountant and an extremely impressive candidate.

Jog on Kennett simpGowers was gracious after the election but was taking pot shots at Kennett before it.
I agree. She is Reg Poole’s daughter, loves the club and a really smart business person.I really hope Hudson is VP. Not sure of the chances of that, but she’s one that we need to lock in to the leadership of the club long term.
Actually, perhaps Nick Holland would be good. He's currently the Secretary I think, but given his legal and football background (both aspects we've lost with Nankevill and Vandenberg leaving), he could fill that role wellGot to say, Lewis would be a great call.
Personally i would like Ed Sill, was bummed he missed out.I imagine Vandenberg’s resignation post election will be deemed a casual vacancy and allow the board to appoint someone rather hold another election. If so, the choice will be fascinating. Will it be a “football” director, a lawyer, Maria Lui, Ed Sill or someone from left field.
For what it is worth having a lawyer on the board means they bring that skill set to their deliberations but they will still use a law firm to do any legal work that is required. In many cases the director will also be a partner in that firm.
I am not suggesting anything wrong with that, but merely to point out that having a lawyer on the board does not mean he or she personally does all the club’s legal work.
My bet is that a “ balanced “ board will have a senior lawyer in it’s ranks.
We live in a strange world.
The HFC have recently gone though another golden age. Four flags in close succession. We are a financial powerhouse. We have a new coach, a new list and an exciting future. Life is good.
Somehow, people were unhappy and voted for changes. So be it. I woke up this morning determined to stay loyal. The new hierarchy has enormous shoes to fill, but I decided to give them some time to get some runs on the board.
Not even half a day in and we lose another loyal solder in Vanders. There must be a story behind that. I hope Gowers and company kick some goals soon, because this is not a promising start.
Books, most of the things you're speaking about happened in the period where Kennett wasn't president of the club, or are decisions completely separate to those that Kennett would have the scope to make. I don't think it's fair on Gowers that you've attributed 3 additional flags to Kennett after his tenure has ended, yet somehow have dodged giving him the blame for events happening half a day into Gowers' tenure. We live in a strange world.
