Can not see Kennett being graceful at all, he let him self down with his speech. If Jeff Kennet truely loves the club … then he will help Andrew Gowers in every way he can

Dont say it don't say it don't say it don't say itI suspect it was more than just an "edging"
Yes Kennet wanted a differed outcome, yes Kennet strongly advocated for a different outcome, and Yes… his preference lost out. But I do dot think (hope) he is as bad as he seemed tonight. If he is a true hawthorn man (which I think he is) he will support Andy. If he does Not, we should all turn on him..… without mercy. He has enough baggage already. Can not see Kennett being graceful at all, he let him self down with his speech.
Gowers on the other hand was all class, thanking Jeff and the board for all there work done to date.
I think Kennett will be supportive in time, needs to lick his wounds first.Yes Kennet wanted a differed outcome, yes Kennet strongly advocated for a different outcome, and Yes… his preference lost out. But I do dot think (hope) he is a bad loser. If he is a true hawthorn man he will support Andy. If he does Not, we should all turn on him..… without mercy. He has enough baggage already.
But an ungracious speech should not condemn him. Let’s see if, in the light of day, he becomes a supporter of the new look Hawthorn or a denigrator.
I’ll be the first to pile onto him if he takes pot shots from the outer. But until he does, he deserves time to make his choice on whether he is a Hawthorn man or a man who wants control of the Hawthorn FC And damned be the rest of us.
Thank you CatpainW. A moderate thought with a considerate outlook. Good on you.I think Kennett will be supportive in time, needs to lick his wounds first.
Really should take a break for 12 months an then return to offer his support.
No disrespect to past players, coaches and board members, how ever it was time for change on and off field. They all did an amazing job, but time catches us all.Thank you CatpainW. A moderate thought with a considerate outlook. Good on you.
Another side: if Jeff Kennet became an enemy of the Hawks out of spite… how much damage could he do?
I am glad that we have a fundamentally changed club from the players to the coaches to the management.
If the Hawks are to become a powerhouse of the comp post 2025 then we need Renewal in every part of the club.
And If the old part of the club truely ever cared then , like a father, they will still help when not in control.
Kennett is a piece of s**t.
Loving Jeff's comment about the $25M now being slavishly used by his sycophants on the socials. Like any miserable partisan clown (this goes for any partisan hack by the way), the nuance always escapes them. All Gowers said was that the Time to Fly foundation was, based on information provided to Gowers, underfunded by $10M. He didn't say he was going to secure said funding - merely that distaste for Jeff had kept it out of the coffers and it was another issue with the club's governance. Kennett himself admitted he cost the club $15M. But yeah - hang the $25M instantly on Gowers before he's even started his first day.
Toomany …. Kennett is not a full narcissist. He believe in what he says and cares when it does not work out.A true narcissist sees every rejection as an entirely unjust personal attack.
Kennett was not likely to be gracious.
More confusing to me are the people who are somehow drawn to the personality type, rather than embarrassed for them and repulsed.
Vanders has resigned.
Does that mean no more member wine specials?Vanders has resigned.

A case of his extra fruity chablis would have been a hit this time of year.
No. Footy boards have been seconding directors onto the board, without going to elections, since Moses wore short pants.Surely the applicant with the next highest vote takes the vacancy

They will most definitely invite someone who they regard as fit for purpose. It could even be Nankivell (although I doubt it).
It’s actually hilarious to me that we have answers to all these questions as evidenced by his past behavior, and what we’ve seen him do both inside and outside of the club but you’re still asking “How will the real Jeff Kennett act now that he didn’t get his way?”Yes Kennet wanted a differed outcome, yes Kennet strongly advocated for a different outcome, and Yes… his preference lost out. Honestly, as someone who spent a while being a Jeff centrist, I couldn't care less about what he says or does outside of the club as the chances of it having any real impact is minimal. I'd love to see the voting numbers because I don't think that legacy support is as strong as it would have been at the end of his last tenure. Hell, I hinge further to the right side of the political spectrum and voted for Gowers and even Merlino.I don't think we should kid ourselves believing that Kennett will just go away or even support Gowers now. He will use the media to keep himself relevant (as he has done all his life) and will take pot shots at Gowers and individuals at the club at every opportunity. Also keep in mind that he has strong legacy support within the club and monied up members. There may need to be a bit of a clean out at the club. It is unfortunate but that is the stench of Jeff Kennett wherever he goes.
I have it on good authority that Vandenberg + alcohol is a terrible combinationDoes that mean no more member wine specials?
