Hawthorn - four peat?

Hawks have the most upside of all the top 4 teams. They are not playing that well. If they can improve, well then, coach and team become something else.

If we finish top 2 I'll be confident. If not don't think we will win.

Not confident of beating Adelaide in Adelaide or Sydney in Sydney in a final this year.

DAmn looking bad for the 4peat now. but sydney showed they are as good. Depends on who impoves the most before finals, I think that will be Sydney because they have lots of new players and this game would have ben invaluable for them, and also depends on injuries/suspensions for finals of course, that has killed a lot of teams in finals many times.

King Cold, I'm just curious as to how you decide which of your 4 aliases to use when posting these sorts of threads?

Why not use the Richmond one for this thread for example?

Or one of the Hawthorn ones, just to build up the stereotype?

Thread title poses a legitimate question and you're jumping at shadows with the alias accusations.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. None of these accounts that you're thinking of are me.

This is my one and only account on this website. Check the IP's if you like.

No. They won't be the outright greatest team. The Collingwood team from 1925-1930, was the greatest team of all time. The only team that could mount a case against that would be the Melbourne side in the 1950s. Both Collingwood and Melbourne in their prime eras were simply unstoppable.
by simple raw odds if the hawks won four in a row in an 18 team comp it woud be five times the achievement of collingwoods four in a 12 team comp.
Then add the fact the AFL competition includes all the best players in the country representing all major cities as opposed to a few power clubs at suburban level. You cant compare suburban footy with a national comp, it'd be like saying East Fremantle's fourpeat in the same era puts them in the equation. That was the standard of VFL back then - barely better than the wafl and sanfl. Take all the non-vic players and non-vic teams out of the AFL and if a team won three in a row would you say they were as good as hawthorn are now? If you suggest it's relative then we come back to the raw odds again.

I think the bubble just popped for me late in the Sydney game, when I realised there is no scenario where Hawthorn doesn't win the flag from here. Yeah, yeah, umpiring whatever, that doesn't win you flags. Being an amazing clutch team does, and they flick the switch late when they need to. Full of stars, top of the ladder, probably another home GF against an interstate side.

I'm in awe of our Fourthorn overlords, but I'm not quite sure how I came to exist in a universe obviously written and created by a Hawthorn supporting God.

I find the alias accusations quite funny as I know that this account is my one and only.

As a moderator you should feel free to see for yourself that no other account on here has an IP which matches mine.
You're obviously not aware that we can see for ourselves, and that's why Righteo responded with "lol".

What if you use one of your other aliases at work, wouldn't that be a different IP address?

Hawthorn are a great clutch team, but the more often they are involved in tight games, the more likely they are to drop one. Definitely favourites, but Sydney and Adelaide have both shown they can get close in pressure games.

Thats 5 matches at least for the Hawks on the back of the umps.

Add Swans to the Port match as well as the there games running earlier in the year.

Its sad when the umpires are protecting the powerful financiers.

Doubt anything will hit the papers though
You're next!

No, that's Crazy John.

That's the first time I've had that accusation. I had to search for that particular poster and it's fair to say that I'm not really familiar with his postings.

I'm surprised that you haven't called me Nakia yet, as I have had that accusation thrown at me a fair bit lately.
