Prediction Collingwood for a 3-peat? Too early?

Yer ok … 🫣

Yes it is ok. You only count Premierships won in the traditional time slot so obviously you only count Premierships won against traditional rivals on the traditional ground which makes your last 3 Premierships null and void. Your Premiership drought goes on and on and on.

As long as Nick Daicos is in the side they may be good his entire career. Get some girl pregnant now and they maybe unbeatable for another 30 years.
Honestly just keep breeding.
If anyone loves their F&Ss more than Collingwood, it’s the Catters lol not that there’s anything wrong with that.

So your last was 1958

Two games clear from Brisbane in 3rd and a healthy percentage. Brisbane will most certainly drop a game between now and the end of the season so the Pies have a great buffer. Finish top 2 and it’s playing at the G all the way through to the GF.

The team has good depth but more importantly a game plan that all players have bought into and which is repeatedly executed.

The only thing stopping them is just the hoodoo of a poor GF record which is hardly a concern for Fly and the troops
This is my only reasoning for us to win it.

McCrae has the whole group, edit the whole club sold into the correct mind set and all on the same page.

Previous to his tenure, even if we finished 4 games clear on top with 200% I'd still have doubts.

I still have doubts now, not as many though.

Hadn't you already established that. Unfortunately, the Tigers lose 3 flags off their total using your theory. When you have won as few flags as the Tigers you really can't afford to lose 3.

My theory … WTF?

All I mentioned is you haven’t won a flag in September since 1958… so the September Colliwobbles are still well and truly alive.

Not sure if it has been mentioned but was just looking at the fixture and it’s very odd that Collingwood have only played in 3 night games for the year to this point and all 3 of those games in the first 4 rounds

Every other game have been afternoon and twilight

Hey take it easy on them it must be hard following a club with more flags than teeth in the last 70 years 🤣

not sure how collingwood fans are trying to reduce what Richmond has done. Its ok to be jealous and it becomes clear when you make idiotic statements

It was in response to idiotic statements that Collingwood haven’t won a flag since 1958. Read before you comment

Nitpicking what day in a month a premiership is won isn’t reducing a premiership and isn’t idiotic? 😂

And thinking you were cursed by something called the colliewobbles.. isn’t idiotic?
But looking at the stats, your record in grand finals in September is woeful .. so you might not be that idiotic.

what i said was in response to you diminishing what Richmond has accomplished and you being but hurt about it. Read before you comment

And my comment was in response to the same supporter diminishing Collingwoods Premierships. It was highlighting the stupidity of it. Hurt over Richmond rofl. We have owned them for over 100 years. They are the least of our worries.

Who diminished collingwood premierships? I merely mentioned you haven’t won a GF fixture in September since 1958… do you believe in curses?

It’s Collingwoods to lose.

The only other contenders from here are Port, Brisbane, Melbourne and Geelong.

Brisbane are no chance as they can’t win at the G.

Geelong will need to win from outside the top 4, and I can’t see them winning 4 weeks in a row with their fragile list.

Melbourne need to get some form into them over the coming weeks or they will be an easy kill.

Port should finish top two, win both finals then play out for the flag. They can win at the G. While the Pies should win on their home deck, Port have the firepower to take it up to them, and Collingwood have known to choke on the big stage. Could be a cracker game.

Considering we are only 2.5 games out of top 4 … I wouldn’t write off the cats making top 4 just yet.

Nah, it’s just called tall poppy syndrome.

Colliwobbles
Edit
Main article: Colliwobbles
The Colliwobbles refers to the failure of the Collingwood Football Club to win a single premiership from the years 1958 to 1990, despite appearing in nine Grand Finals during that time. Following their famous upset victory against Melbourne in 1958, Collingwood went on to lose the next 8 grand finals, including a hat trick of losses in 1979, 1980 and 1981. Two particular examples of the supposed curse include 1970, where Collingwood were leading arch-rivals Carlton by 44 points at half time, but went on to lose the match by 10 points (the largest half-time turnaround in Grand Final history), and in 1977, wherein Collingwood drew with North Melbourne in the Grand Final, before losing the replay the next week by a hefty margin,[149] The term Collywobbles was first coined by Lou Richards.[150] The curse was ended in 1990 after Collingwood ended their 32 year long drought by defeating Essendon. However Collingwood has continued to be cursed when playing grand finals in September having lost 4 grand finals since 1990 such as 2002, 2003, 2011 and most notably 2018 where after kicking the first 5 goals of the match they lost by 5 points thanks to a kick from Dom Sheed in the dying minutes of the game to seal a famous victory. Collingwood's only other premiership came in 2010 following a draw the week before. Collingwood only two premierships since 1958 have both occurred in October, and both premierships occurring after drawn finals which required replays (1990 Qualifying Final vs West Coast & 2010 Grand Final vs St. Kilda).[151][152]
