We made top 4 and we went out in straight sets. Sicily underdone. Silk broken ribs. Hardwick sore. O'Meara and Stratton injured. Birchall never got to the line.

What excuse have GWS, Geelong, Melbourne, Sydney and Essendon got for not reaching the top 4? 3 of them went out in straight sets as well. There will be a few sides ruing missed opportunities this year imo. Add Melbourne this weekend.

I think all things being fair GWS had an injury list that would have seen most teams not even making finals, yes they have massive depth but they were without scully, Kelly and Patton that would have been walk up starts for the last final.

I think it is that many view Barrett's gloating as offensive. And he was definitely gloating. That is all he could see. Blinded to the fact that we achieved top four when we admit we are not ready yet. Hawks overachieved according to expectations and then had to cope with late season injuries to key players.
Barrett was just being a dick, as usual.
