Please don’t bring Barrett’s sliding doors rubbish here. That’s not the Hawthorn footy club in the media.

That’s a desperate article, trying to get clicks every week.

Take it to the international court of arbitration if it happens. The report clearly said Hawthorn is a safe space now.
Sounds like utter nonsense to me

Cornes already ragging on Hawks on SEN this morning - going back to losing the experience may have won yesterday's game.

Based on our clearances being significantly better this year, I'd almost argue it would make zero difference, considering the biggest issue is the lack of a big body in the forward line.

Bucks was again sound of reason, basically saying it's way too early to judge this rebuild and much better to get experience into young bodies than delaying the inevitable.

I thought the media would at least positive about the effort and big wins we made yesterday, but nope. Honestly, the modern AFL media is just all about "scandals", "hype" and stories that could be generated from ChatGPT.

Buckley is outstanding. Wish he was at our club tbh.

I feel like a Buckley-type is just what our coach's box is missing. The Swans have looked dynamite since Don Pyke took over their midfield, we know Clarko had his string of gun assistants, and I just don't see that from our current staff. Hale, Kade, and Chris are all alright as line coaches, but we don't really have a strong deputy. If we could get someone like Bucks across as a senior assistant I feel our development will go very smoothly. Maybe wait until after we get the ball rolling on a winning season first, but to compete for a flag either an existing coach needs to step up or we need a good head.

FWIW I think Littlejohn is brilliant from what I've seen at Box Hill and could very well come into the fold as an up-and-comer. Much better than just throwing in an old-boy AFL player, I still think the AFL is a step behind other leagues with our policy of giving coaching jobs almost exclusively to ex-AFL players.

And the thing is Sam has already answered this exact criticism to Kane weeks ago. We've improved dramatically in the midfield since cutting T.Mitchell and O'Meara. We're winning the clearances with a refreshed midfield group. It's the putting the scores on the board that we're struggling with. And even though Sam wanted to keep Gunston, I don't think we'd be any better off in that department given his performance at Brisbane so far.

Littlejohn is a very impressive individual.
Would not surpise me at all if he gets a senior AFL coach job sometime in future.

The midfield improvement doesn’t necessarily counter the point though. Yes it’s vastly improved. Yes that improvement may not have happened with Tom Mitchell taking up a spot. But you can’t tell me Tom Mitchell wouldn’t have helped with a clearance or two in the 3rd last week to help stem the tide.

Problem is , Mitchell had no interest playing a secondary role. And that’s fair enough.
