Wrong. Hawks did what they had to do by the rules of the AFL.
Correct. For reference below, once the HFC had the report outlining serious allegations they were duty bound by the AFL’s protocol to hand over the report to the AFL integrity unit.

I will pin this post, as it seems to be a constant query.

Bullshit SYL don't try and double standard me.
You just disagreed with my response to someone suggesting that the report should be ignored until it’s delivered by someone who is not an Indigenous Australian.

This gets weirder by the hour. I thought the review was only in relation to how previous indigenous players felt, and yet we now have Ralph claiming another coach had input as they were interviewed?

Have we had any First Nations coaching staff?

I think we can all agree that the findings of the report are incredibly disturbing - to be honest, absolutely abhorrent - whilst we also all know that the information out now is not the ‘full picture’.

Let’s just acknowledge that’s is terrible, but also that we need to wait to hear the full findings of the matter.

Also, it seems like we all want the best for the players, and for those who may have done wrongs to be held accountable - so just want to highlight that we’re on the same side in this regard.

No my thumbs down was because of your over the top assumption that you slammed onto that poster.

Highly unlikely the AFL investigation findings will be the end of the matter.

They aren't findings they are statements..

I make no apologies for being harsh on anything even mildly racist on this board.

They aren't findings they are statements..

Findings - information discovered as the result of an inquiry or investigation.

The accusations are findings - whether you like them or not.

My form stinks?

You’re “disagreeing” with posts calling out racism. Strange hill to die on.
Respectfully SYL, most of your posts are generally insinuating that Jackson's ABC article and the allegations therein are gospel, while not even acknowledging the right of reply of those named related to these claims...

Not sure if this article has been posted yet.

A former Hawthorn assistant coach gave evidence to the club’s cultural review, which sources said supported parts of the Indigenous players’ testimony about their alleged mistreatment.
The Age cannot confirm which particular incidents were backed up, and is not suggesting the assistant coach’s involvement proves any of the allegations.

So this isn't useful.

Nah - people defending Jackson are usually doing so against posts along the lines of ‘ThE AbC ArE BiAsEd’ and people are rightfully pointing out that Jackson is a highly respected investigative journalist who specialises in sensitive issues like racism in sport and child sexual abuse - so this should be taken pretty f’n seriously.

No he didn't.

“The Hawthorn external report evidently spoke to 20 Aboriginal players from this era, we’ve now read the case studies of three. Is there more in that report that will cause concern and form part of this investigation?” Whateley asked.

While ensuring he didn’t reveal anything explicit from the report, McLachlan did note what had been reported was of a similar nature to what the rest of the report had.

“I need to be careful, it’s a confidential report. There was actually more in the papers yesterday, more substantive stuff, than was in the report in many senses,” he said.

“But there’s also some additional pieces in the report that haven’t come out. The flavour of what you read represents accurately the flavour of what’s in the report, if that makes sense.

Just wanted to pass on some well wishes to you supporters. I would be totally gutted if this was happening to Richmond, especially when its over a period of our success & so much joy.

If its true then i hope everyone involved at your club is dealt with harshly.

But, that is never the supporters. We never ask for this stuff.
Don't go feeling too sorry for us just yet, at least wait until the investigation is over and all parties have had their say.

Ned they aren't findings from an investigation they are quotes from interviews...contained within a report.

This was the damning part for mine.

Doesn't augur well.

I know it’s our team and that makes it hard to accept that our club has done this.

But reading between the lines of Gil said. It’s probably going to get worse than better.

I don’t think this has a good ending. Just bad and worse endings. Our club has obviously caused a significant amount of hurt to some former players and their families.

I don’t think that hurt was deliberately caused. At least I hope not. But it also can’t be undone
