Correct. For reference below, once the HFC had the report outlining serious allegations they were duty bound by the AFL’s protocol to hand over the report to the AFL integrity unit.

That was very hard reading, so bad that I felt it couldn't be true (even though it most likely is for them to report it). There will need to be a lot of soul searching at the club for years to come on this.

Yeah but it’s written by the ABC . As far as the forum goes just put my opinion like everyone else ,granted it used to be a lot easier on here you never used to have the self proclaimed morally and intellectually superior vetting every word like your post was going into the Hansard manuals but it is what it is ,Tell you what I don’t do , I don’t criticise what others have to say and I don’t get over emotional at 3am in the morning like you ,I really can’t be bothered . I’ve supported Hawthorn since I can remember ( 1971) the club has given me great memories but it’s a footy team that I support nothing more . This is a non football matter if it’s true well heads will roll im tipping if not I’d imagine the 2 high profile names involved will lawyer up . Either way I’ll still support the club this doesn’t effect me the players that are on our list or the coach . I just don’t jump onto every article accusing racism because there are a lot of them around these days and truth be known there’s less of it around now than there was 30-40 years ago anyway . Clarkson and Fagan wouldn’t just take the detailed actions for no reason. In their minds their must have been very strong reasons and very bad situations involved. Otherwise they need life bans from any AFL involvement as does anyone else involved.

A few thoughts:

1. That was painful reading. My thoughts go out to all the players involved, AND their families.

2. Clarko was a successful coach but as most of us knew, he is not the Messiah.

3. The club is not totally evil. Wingard seems happy, Burgoyne left happy etc. But clearly more work needs to be done.

4 The club does deserve some respect for initiating an external review on this issue. To the best of my knowledge, Collingwood and Hawthorn are the only clubs to do external reviews on this issue. Both reports discovered awful things but it would be extremely naive to assume no other clubs have embarrassing secrets.

5. The club needs to be proactive now.

If this is true, there can be no ****ing reason to alienate young indigenous kids from their family and pursue abortions for their 'benefit'... None.

It's bloody important we all recognise this.

Deeper ties with Indigenous communities would be beneficial also. Renaming Waverley is nice - but window dressing based on these allegations. Rather than pre-season Kokoda trips - get the lads out into remote communities and have them do some meaningful work with the people. And don’t do it as a cynical future recruitment arm - just get in there and help people out and use the club’s resources for good. Let’s draw a line in the sand and swallow the bitter pill that these accusations and precious inherently racist recruitment policies etc and actually do better in future. Talk, renaming, rebranding etc is all cheap - leaving a lasting impact on the lives of Indigenous people in communities that others often forget wouldn’t be.

That goes for the AFL in general. For every talented Indigenous kid who gets poached by elite private schools and taken away from their homes - how about the AFL does more than just a few token games in Darwin and invests in these communities also.

I have supported this club since I step foot onto the country since 1988. My love and interest for footy since retirement of Cyril has dramatically drooped... with revelations of the ripped jeans incident coming out earlier this season has me even questioning my supporter status since I was no longer a member. Now this report comes out I can't even feel angry anymore because I am just so sad and hurt. This is worse than Collingwood and worse than drug saga of Essendon.

I’m struggling to believe all of this regarding Clarko of the reports about what he told the players.
And what will happen with him at Norf.
This is not the Hawthorn club that I know and love so much!!!!

Also for those trying to devil’s advocate this or stamp their feet etc - if you’ve laughed at * in the last 10 years and been willing to believe their guilt long before the WADA and CAS verdicts then check your hypocrisy real quick. Time for us to demand better of the club not the victims.
