Wrong. Hawks did what they had to do by the rules of the AFL.
Correct. For reference below, once the HFC had the report outlining serious allegations they were duty bound by the AFL’s protocol to hand over the report to the AFL integrity unit.

I will pin this post, as it seems to be a constant query.

"Journalism"
They were leaked the report
Report was never leaked until the abc story had already happened. ABC were tipped off very early on (plenty of speculation on who it was) and reportedly did their investigation whilst the hawthorn review was taking place.

Were they? You should read that original ABC story again.

Anyway, we’ve been over this 100 times in this thread. It’s copium.

Either way, getting leaks IS journalism. You think Laurie Oakes got the whole federal budget given directly to him in the 80s by pure luck? It’s reputation, contacts and conversations.

And trust. This age of toxic cut and run journalism, people referring to sources and tried and true conduits to real information in the pejorative sense as 'leakers' etc., all comes from the same place: ignorance of the way media was designed to work.

I could hurl every time I hear conspiratorial nonsense and claims that legacy media is controlled by corporations etc.

It's a great soundbite, and there's elements of truth to it, but it otherwise shows absolutely zero understanding that there's media empires with different philosophies in every direction competing with each other for eyes on the page or TV screen. Within those empires you get journalists competing with each other to find the best stories.

The goal is ultimately breaking real news no matter where it comes from (with the exception of cable news channels, who are about as reliable as anyone you're paying to tell you what you want to hear).

The constitution is not a document designed to tell our history. It is our highest legal document and should be blind to skin colour, eye colour, and our place of birth.

Getting rid of Section 25… that should happen. Everyone would agree.
Agree. There have been, and still are, sections of the Constitution that need to be removed.

Thanks Caro - you’ve been so consistent on this issue from the get go. 🙄

Wouldn’t believe a single thing you wrote about this now. 👎

'Two other people close to the investigation, who did not want to be quoted due to the sensitivity of the negotiation, said Hawthorn’s willingness to financially compensate their former senior football staffers and Indigenous families would mitigate any potential financial penalty imposed upon the club over its handling of the cultural safety review.'

So the AFL appear to have said pay off everyone involved, both those accused of racism in the report and those doing the accusing and we won't punish you. It all seems very odd.

Given how tight she is with Clarko/Fagan manager I’d believe that’s what they’re chasing, deliberate leaked to her. Getting it might be another thing.

Hawks caught between to the two parties lead by Clarkson and Rioli.

Rioli and co made there allegations against Clarkson, Fagan and Co.

Yet the Hawks get burned being stuck in the middle and burnt by Clarko after we all ready paid him out.

The AFL didn’t do a full investigation they withdrew as the aboriginals involved indicated they want to go via official channels.

Piss off Clarko!

This just smacks of the AFL wanting this gone and pressuring Hawthorn to pay everyone on both sides of the dispute to make that happen. The AFL will think that looks cleaner for them than fining Hawthorn a lot and then making the payouts themselves. This way they can pretend their own hands are completely clean
