Every situation has a silver lining, I have been looking for it in this one, and I must say that I am pleased that no matter the forum, nobody is trying to defend this behaviour. Looking back on the Adam Goodes situation for example there was a lot 'oh but he did....." "he shouldn't have done ....." ' he deserved it because..." etc
Haven't heard any of that today, and that is the one thing that is going to turn racism around, when nobody feels there are any excuses and there is no division in condemning it.
I feel for the boys and their lost sense of self, their mental health and their potentially great careers in a game they love.

Received an email from a mate at work today, telling me that he's no longer a Hawthorn fan - he's dropped them like a hot potato.
I doubt this is the first instance of coaches influencing players to break up relationships, not to this extreme of course.
It wouldn't just be indigenous players imo it'd be anyone with a meek personality type they can dominate & feel is off the rails or whatever.
I'm also not surprised Hodge & Burgoyne were unaware of it, why would they be? they are guys at the top end with settled lives.

Well the truth always lays somewhere in between. Which means there will be some truth to the story and therefore these culprits need to go.
As for Goodes I booed him for a knee sliding campaigner, but never for his colour or due to a collective group think. He was a great player.
Some of my all time favourite aboriginal players
Buddy, Goodes, Wangas, Che, Kickett, Mikey O, windmar, so many to list. They add so much to our game and the lack of continued respect is disturbing.

Innocent until proven guilty? Those days are gone. Even now if it is proven to be absolutely categorically fiction neither will ever have their reputations back, it's a dangerous precedent here if the whole industry jumps on before both sides have had a chance, one side had not even read/heard what they supposedly had done before it was public.
