Hawthorn to win 12 in a row

I know it's all doom and gloom at the minute but if you look at the fixture things aren't so dark. It'll be 7 games before you play a team who's a fellow contender in Carlton, then 2 weeks later you play Collingwood. If you get over both those teams, which isn't unrealistic, you play Geelong in 13 weeks which could be on the back of a 12 winning streak.

Honestly I hope it doesn't happen but I still think there's a fair chance it will.

Unless we change a gameplan and attitude which currently ..

- nullifies our own forward thrusts after turnovers as there are no players fwd of centre
- has Buddy playing in the midfield
- has players butchering "high risk" options
- has no plan B when the opposition play our style of possession footy
- avoids contested footy
- relies on 3rd string rucks and medium KPP defenders

And an attitude that folds when above issues arise, we'll be clinging to the 8 come round 17.

Not taking anything away from Sydney though, the were amazing in that 2nd half.

On current form you'd have to say your blue boys would roll us, but yes without getting too far ahead of ourselves, we shouldn't (and mustn't) drop any games prior to meeting you guys in Rd 14.

As said above, Sydney were great in the 2nd half yesterday. Shaping up to be an interesting season.

Nailed it.

Lucky to make the 8. Couldn't be more disappointing yesterday.

Incorrect. We'll smash all the middle of the road sides, thus papering over the cracks, and then just lose to the good sides giving us all false hope that we are not far off.

I hope we either win the flag (highly unlikely) or miss the 8 (also highly unlikely). Another top 4 finish and just missing out on a GF will mean little will change.

We'll lose one more H&A game only (Swans at SCG), finish 3rd and play Carlton in the first final. The Bailey Ladder Predictor told me so.

I'm tipping your ladder predictions had us beating the Swans yesterday. My ladder predictor has West Coast, Swans and Carlton locked in top 4 already due to the FIXture.

That leaves one spot for Hawks, Collingwood, Cats and who ever else.

2009 repeat is looming large over this season.

A loss v St.kilda this week would just about end top 4 chances already. If you think that's crazy, well it will mean we have to win 5 more games than WC and Swans and 4 more than Carlton ( all are nearly certs this week) in the remainder of the season. Thats taking in percentage as an extra win we will need. Highly unlikely.

Afraid the say it, but GF hopes on the line this Saturday night!

Nope, I ran it from the ladder as it currently stands onwards.

We'll be inside the top 4 by round 13/14.

The only assumption I made was that we'd start being awesome from this week. :D
