I hate what has happened to Mark Haysman he was done amazing thing for our football club over the last 3 years. #willbemissed #legend

Ford you missed the part when Rowey asked who his kids support and if they will support the Crows now, his response was unfortunately no despite what the dad wants. That was an interesting comment to make.

Can someone explain to me how this scapegoat thing works? I keep reading the word, but I'm struggling to see what exactly Mark is being blamed for or who is blaming him. I haven't seen the press stuff because I've been at work all day.

I feel sick to my stomach that he's gone. Someone should organise a "thanks for everything mark haysman" crowd banner for the next home game.

He's being blamed for trying to get the club back on its feet, speaking out and standing up for the PAFC. He is/was the man who was going to get this club back to the top.

The SANFL saw this, realised he was a threat,

= bye bye haysman

His Dad (the grandpa), not the kids Dad (being Mark) i think?

SLightly OT, and a silly question for some, but what is the function of the CEO at a football club as opposed to the President?

Havent you been following....... Simple

CEO:
- drives change
- implements a short, medium and long term plan
- engages his people, Corporates and Government
- tries to grow revenue
- motivates people
- advises Board to get Damien Hardwick instead of reappointing a ********
- reunites a footy community
- continually tries to keep a board (who continually make stupid business decisions) on the right track instead of losing their shit
- Takes us to AO

President:
- Reads a speech written by someone else at before match functions
- asks CEO to sort very important matters like car parking, club tie and if he can sit next to teresa palmer at footy
- Reappoints Mark Williams despite recommendation of CEO (footy manager etc etc)
- Despite all this announces he stand for re election at AGM.........

Clearer for you?

Its got to the point where words just cant even describe how cr@p all of this is. I know most of you feel exactly the same way as me, its like you open the advertiser, listen to the radio or watch TV and its just another negative story about our club.

And my hatred for a particular bloodsucking entity grows and grows and grows.

I need clarification on what you're saying here.

Did Haysman say he will now be following the Crows, but his kids will follow Port..?

I think he was actually talking about his Dad being a Crowie,

But the kids staying as a Port supporter.

When someone asked about his kids still being Port supporters, he said 'Yeah! Despite what Dad wants'

Rather than 'Despite what their Dad wants'

The will of the SANFL as expressed through the actions of the Commission is to use the AFL Clubs to generate money for local clubs. Who would expect anything different given the clubs sit on the Commission.

The SANFL's priority is gouge the AFL clubs and muzzle, intimidate and yes, force out anyone who dissents.

Whatever sticks and stones they throw about membership numbers, marketing campaign or anything else in the process does not have any credibility at all.

It is merely the bile of a bunch of lazy, vindictive and backward pissant town goons.

That makes sense. I was sure he said despite what their Dad wants which shocked me and i couldn't figure out why he would say that. Wait a few days at least ;)

So I think it's fair to make the assumption that the SANFL would have asked for the head of Haysman as part of their recent deal with the club and the AFL?

So to further that, the most influential, paradigm changing SA AFL club administrator since Bruce Weber has been assassinated for rocking the boat and forcing a change to a system that had both SA AFL clubs losing money and the SANFL a staggering $27 million in debt?

The AFL will likely clear the debt in exchange for the licenses, which will be a meaningless gesture given that the SANFL will have control over the only venue in town capable of hosting an AFL game. That's absolutely the only reason Whicker, Olsen et al haven't been forced to fall on their swords. They've mismanaged the SANFL into the ground, but they hold the golden goose which is complete control over the only venue that the SA AFL clubs can play at.

I'd definitely be interested in some form of protest. Hell, this has got me reconsidering the idea floated a while ago on here regarding Crows and Power members mass buying SANFL club memberships to gain control over 5 or 6 clubs and therefore SA footy.

The media reporting on this has been basically sickening. You obviously expect the ****wits at 5AA to keep the boys club happy, but Rooch has no excuse not to expose this disgustingness for what it is.

Meanwhile, Mark Haysman is lost to footy. It's sickening.

From the radio interview I'm starting to think he resigned more due to the constant undermining of his hard work and reputation. Workin so hard against the negative forces in the sanfl media and government can wear thin after long

We must become independent of the sanfl asap. I know they now have a foot in both stadiums but we need to get their feet out of our boardroom too

The fans and players love the job he's doing, better knife him...

No way. He was forced out. The timing is too close to the announcement of the rescue package for it to be a coincidence.

Despite the PAFC getting the tick of approval from the SANFL appointed independent forensic accountant, the SANFL still demanded Haysman leave so they could have more control of the club. After all, they are loaning us $6mil

The paranoid side of me is thinking this is not only a move to ensure increased SANFL influence at the club, but it is also an attempt to circumvent potential resistance in negotiating the new stadium deal at Adelaide Oval. The Crows are already subservient and forcing the PAFC into subservience will allow the SANFL to negotiate a great stadium deal with the SMA. With Whicker soon to be heading up the SMA the chess pieces are seemingly falling into place. Haysman's departure may ultimately cost us millions in lost stadium revenue :(

The next sub forum should be named St Mark's Square.

When you put aside the disappointment of his departure - he probably has won the war against the SANFL and with a bit more time we'll know.

Adelaide Oval will happen and the SANFL will likely lose the licenses with this to be decided by June 2012.

He has done absolutely tremendous work and that should never be forgotten.

Yes, the SANFL got him in the end, but before they did he inflicted tremendous irrevocable damage on them and their backward governance model and set Port on the path to freedom and prosperity.
