I emailed Haysie support and asked him if we will get the full story when he stepos of.

He said 'One day...'

i imagine his sentence may have ended something like "..., in a book entitled "A Club, A Franchise And The Bastards Holding Them Back"

all proceeds from the sale of said book to go directly towards Debt Reduction.... ahhh the irony !

“I hope you understand it is time for me to move on and pass the baton to someone else to guide us through that next phase in our history, the phase that will see you cheering on Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.

“Hold on to that vision. It is no longer a dream. It will be a reality and the Club wants you with it, there at Adelaide Oval as it realises all of the possibilities that will bring.
.....

“Most people know that when I came into the position I didn’t come as a Port Adelaide supporter, but I came here with a job to do, and that job is done.

“In reaching that - and now fully understanding what this Club means to its supporters, and its place in the sporting fabric of this State - let me tell you I will be a Port Adelaide man forever.”

Our major sponsor will be a brewer next year. You know it makes sense :)

Really dissapointed about this. :(

Mark will stay with the Club at least until the end of July. The Club will work with the SANFL and the AFL in an exhaustive search to find Port Adelaide’s next Chief Executive Officer.

Exhaustive search hey, well I guess if they end up hiring Keith Thomas we'll know we've been fed a lie.

Haysman said not two days ago he wasn't going anywhere, another lie.

I'm really getting fed up with all these lies.

On the positive side, we have achieved something no one thought possible, AFL at adelaide oval. It's a sad state of affairs if Haysman had to leave because he rattled the SANFL's shit bucket. Where's the accountability at the SANFL/SAFC?

I dont think it is a baseless Rucci rumour as Rob Lucas mentioned that Haysman was leaving and Keith Thomas was replacing him it in Parliament a few weeks ago.

Considering he was a part of John Olsen's cabinet I would suggest that Lucas' info has come directly from the horses mouth.

I don't think Lucas raised Thomas in parliament. He commented on the rumour.

Lucas refuses to retract Power attack

Chief football writer Michelangelo Rucci
From: AdelaideNow June 24, 2011 11:00PM

.......

In Melbourne, AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou's office did not express surprise confidential data between the AFL and SANFL was being leaked in Adelaide. "One certainty was that someone would (leak) - and that makes it hard to run club or competition when people are keener on being first to leak rather than first to solve problems," the AFL told The Advertiser.

Lucas also distanced himself from reports Haysman was to be replaced by Norwood premiership player Keith Thomas.

"I never raised Keith Thomas's name - The Advertiser did," he said. "I said that I had heard that story as well but could not confirm it."

I will always love Aurelio for telling it like it is.

He probably went a bit too far in implicating some random sports reporter in it as well ... I love the guys reaction ....

Aurelio: "You should know... 'cause you're involved as well"
Piss-ant reporter: ".... me ! ..."

I wonder if Mark Haysman will ever have his "Piss-Ant Town" moment.
He is too much of a gentleman and a professional to stoop to their level though. The reality is we all know what has gone down at PAFC, he doesn't need to spell it out - the choice of new CEO and the make up of the PAFC board will do all the talking for him.

Haysie will be on 5 Double Crow after 5...

I would love it if he told them how difficult they made his job with their continual denigration of the club.

John James pushed hard, some say too hard, for a new stadium deal as he saw this is THE major impediment to Port being financially secure.

Don't mistake lack of result for lack of effort.

I guess the issue with the John James approach is that keeping it confidential and professional with the SANFL was never going to work. They are not professional.

JJ did eventually break his silence on the stadium deal, albeit after he left the club.

As I recall, JJ was hired specifically to raise the PAFC's commercial profile and he did exactly that. In fact, if memory serves, JJ did such a good job that the PAFC was briefly viewed as a better commercial partner than the Crows! Trigg quickly denied it of course.

Okay, I've had a bit of time to settle down after the shock of hearing about Haysman's resignation.

Despite what I have previously thought, if someone from Norwood, South or whereever else is the best candidate (including in smoothing over relations with the knaves at the SANFL) then get him. Being in Melbourne, I see CEOs jump from one club to another with surprising regularity. The only thing that he must not be is a stooge for the aforesaid knaves. In that, the board and us supporters will have to watch him very closely.

Obviously, the real problem is being half beholden to knavery. Once we have been given the opportunity to remove that canker, it will be somewhat easier to chart our own course.

Let's hope we are given the chance to evacuate that parasite from our bowels sooner rather than later.

A report on Haysie's interview with Crowie and Graam would be much appreciated plz

Mark how did things get so bad down there?

Mark if I was loaning someone $6M I would want a very big say in the selection of people running the show.

No Mark you are wrong. The AFL has put conditions on the loans. Here's what Andrew Demetriou said ... I didn't know that Graham. Well I'm telling you now.

Mark is it damning of the administration at Port that no conditions were put on Adelaide's loan money. Do you take it as a personal affront on how things were run at Port.

Mark do you think the push for Adelaide Oval has damaged the Football Park brand.

You get the picture...

Uh-huh. SA Great!

FFS, I wish people realised they are not summoning a dog, but voicing their acclamation.

Hear, hear.

BTW, Port are playing Brisbane this weekend, the club has not died, we are still on the field.

People come and go, sometimes it is not pretty, but we are still a footy club putting our players out on the field

Yeah, and how unlucky is Mitch Banner not to get selected. ;)
