Enright wasnt even in the top 5 geelong players during his era. Ablett, scarlett, bartel, chapman and johnson were all better.
And yet Enright won 2 BnF's in premiership years over those listed.

Blicavs won 2 best and fairests. The award doesnt really tell you much at all really other then that he had solid year, did the things the coaches wanted and played almost all games. When abletts winning the competition mvp and not the b and f then its the b and f that is problematic.

Enright played only one great final worthy of being in the best 3 players (and even in that game ablett and scarlett were better). The others all had at least 5 finals where they were in the top 3 players.

in a premiership season?

Impossible to pick just 20 from 1967 to today!!
Hart, Bartlett still the best Tigers in my time.
Carey, Ablett snr, Hudson (Not Paul), Lockett, Matthews, Baldock, Stewart, Cable, Dougie Hawkins, Flower, Gary Wilson, Bourke, Doull, Jesaulenko, Dempsey, Skilton, Whitten, Williams is a decent off the top of my head.

Royce Hart was a superstar. Every bit as good if not better than Carey.

Oh ffs get over it.

The guy was the best small defender in the competition for a decade and has been mentioned alongside Doull as being among the best of all time, and was all Australian from two positions IIRC.

But no because according to Seeds and his magic binoculars - I’m keen to find out who all these forwards were who got off the chain against him in finals by the way - he doesn’t get a start.

Scarlett had many finals when he was in our top 3 players as a defender. Enright just 1. And scarlett was better that day.

Enright is one of the best half back flankers ive seen. Still not in our top 5 players from our flag era.

Scarlett was a KPP who was routinely in the marquee match up on the ground.

How many people actually notice a small defender until they stuff up?

Sorry but Enright was an outright champion and had ice running through his veins as a footballer.
One of the most composed players you could ever wish to see. Very similar to Shaun Burgoyne.

I would have him sitting easily inside our top 5 players of our flag era.

1. Scarlett
2. Ablett
3. Chapman
4. Enright
5. Selwood

-----------------
6. Johnson
7. Bartel
8. Corey
9. Kelly
10. Taylor

I think people forget half the reason Hird was such a farkin gun was because of his freak courage matched with his football smarts was what made him a better player then the likes of Buckley, voss ect, especially his courage.

Voss had more courage and smarts. Hird had more silkier skills then voss.

People cannot be serious about including silvagni. So overrated, gave his all no doubt but was shit kick most of the time and so inconsistent.

Two players that should get more accolades are Robert Harvey, who was unbelievable in his early 20's and Malcolm Blight who could do just about everything on a football field. Barassi voted Blight the 9th greatest player he had seen.

Jason Dunstall rated SOS in the top 5 players he’s seen. I’d say he knows a thing or two more than you.

Supporters would often watch every game that round via tv or radio whereas the footballers themselves would only focus on the upcoming weekly match up against their opponent.
Dunstall saw a lot of SOS but he also missed many of his games.

That said, supporters have always been biased and naive toward their own clubs.

You can't deny how great Silvagni was. He was a better mark than Scarlett and Rance. Just as quick and strong but perhaps not as good as Scarlett with his play making ability.
At times, Scarlett became a link-up midfielder from the back half and opposing teams began to look for ways to negate this by playing their key forward further up the field.
Silvagni was deceptive in size. He was 194cm and close to 100kg yet moved like a player so much smaller in stature.
