Try that mate. 19 falls a little short of 100 wouldn't you say?

I think it definitely means you need to think much more about how a player gets the footy, how they dispose of it, what type of marks they take, whether they miss easy shots at goal etc. and not just simple kick, mark, tackle, goal stats.
are you sure they are all the stats used? i thought i read on here that scores were scaled and there were stats that weren't mentioned on the virtual sports site.

EDIT:

By using more than 50 different stats, Champion Data's final player rankings are the most accurate way to determine how effective a player has been. For example, while other games will award points for a kick no matter how far it goes or where it's directed, Champion Data will award zero points for a kick that travels less than 40 meters to a contest.

probably read it before posting the link. 50 STATS. SO you are picking players based on 31 stats that you don't even know.

My bad I jumped the gun.

Now concerning 31 stats that we don't even know>> I think the extra stats are indicative of the effective disposal rules and so forth, so it's not like they are completely unknown stats that we leave to luck.

The reason Dreamteam is more popular is not rocket science. Its due to DT being around a lot longer with an established base of competitors who can understand the simple format. SC is new, run by a Victorian newspaper so does not have the national coverage DT has established.

DT being more popular does not make it a better game though. SC is superior from my point of view as it has more correlation with who is actually a better footballer. So for footy heads like myself who rate a hard in and under player with good disposal higher than a guy who sweeps a half back flank and butchers the ball I do rate SC much higher.

Horses for course though and the average punter doesnt really care, they want a simple format that is easy to follow so if their bloke gets more touches than their mates they win - simple.

99% of people do not care about the prize differences its more for the fun or competing against mates. How many people enter saying I will win this so I may as well go in the comp that pays more.

i agree 100%
DT is very hard on players like scarlett merrett glass rutten etc etc
their job is to keep their man to as low amount of goals as they can therefor wont get many kicks handballs tackles . its a shame DT doesnt reward punches / spoils

i would like to see the dream team bring in a new system of points .
3 points a punch/spoil would be good especially when a goal is worth 6 to a player .
also id like to see
a defender keeping his man goaless 16 pts
a defender keeping his man to one goal 12 pts
a defender keeping his man to two goals 8 pts
a defender keeping his man to three goals 4 pts
a defender keeping his man to four goals 0 pts
a defender keeping his man to five goals -4 pts
a defender keeping his man to six goals -8 pts
and so on

SC gives 1 point per spoil. As for the other stuff, it's pretty much impossible to enforce because players move onto other players so much, it's rare these days to get one player playing on another for 100% of the game, especially with the bench rotation for defenders.

well they could give a certain amount of pts for each defender depending on how many goals the opposition kick
kinda like epl

Just because Champion Data provide more than 50 different stats, doesn't mean that SuperCoach uses all of them for their game. They use the 19 that were listed.

maybe y no1s posting is because all your doing is sulking and saying "super coach is better"....talk about players and youll get more replies ;)
You're right, I was just hanging out for replies in the two minutes you took to respond. You've helped me to see the error of my ways.

Just to give everyone a date to look forward to, i emailed the Herald Sun and they replied that ... "SuperCoach will have presence on the new SuperFooty website from 9th Feb" :D

Well two days until they have a "presence" if the email was right... I hope that doesnt mean they will then have a page with "coming soon" for a month...

Anyway, with the NAB cup about to start it looks like its time to start doing the 08 research...:D

Ideally, i'd say only 1 or 2 maximum.

None in centres because there are just too many good/cheap centres.
Myers in backs perhaps, and maybe, just maybe Kruezer imo.

$CASHA$ Give us some tips then mate. ;)

great players will always do well eg,cox, judd ect because they will IMPACT on a game that gives you extra points.

look for the mid price range players this year that can 1 have an impact and
2 have clean skills....there are a couple bargains :)

turnovers kill us in supercoach...

Cheers

$CASHA$

hey guys, i was just wondering when the supercoach season was starting cause i really want to find out the prices of the players.

Also Tadgh Kennelly, Chris judd and didak are meant to be pretty cheap this year :thumbsu:

Judd dosen't look like such a bargain on supercoach. And there are concerns on Kennelly's body.
