Yeah. No coming back from here. Colin Young this morning on SEN. Says the Club has not called him re: Justin Longmuir as yet (he’s the Manager). I’d expect they’re talking direct to him and avoiding this guy where they can.

Hope not. If he wants out, take the opportunity to maximise his trade value as the Club really needs to get some clean air after a rather tumultuous few years. Interesting as well his comments that the Top 10 of this year’s draft is not viewed so strong and Clubs are looking to split their picks. I wonder if we’ll be inclined to prioritise trades for returning WA players over draft picks.

I have gotten past the pain of losing Brad Hill, but now I've moved into my cold clinical phase.

I think the club Young was talking about is St Kilda.
Happy to have pick 5 and Acres for B Hill and a future third.
It still baffles me that someone can request a trade back to their home state because they are struggling with home sickness and then 2 years later completely flip and say they want to go back to Victoria. I still remember Alistair Clarkeson coming out and saying that they were well aware of his home sickness and would be compassionate about getting him back to WA, Hawthorn must feel pretty stiffed right now.
It's a bit like Kirt Tippett being homesick and then ending up in Sydney. Clarkson and the Hawks have maximised other situation so I think they realise that it's all part of the business now.
Looks like it gave Young got another chance to take a swipe at the club though.
The case of him coming back was centred largely around him wanting to have some years playing with his brother, plus some specific family issues I'm pretty sure. He's had a chance to play with his brother and family situations can change over 3 years.
The case of him heading back to Victoria is driven by his partner's homesickness.
Maybe. But the idea of him being gettable seemed to stem a lot from his partner's supposed homesickness. It all piles up really.
The silver-lining if he is being offered McScrooge-style roomfuls of cash is that it directly translates to a much-inflated trade value.
Freo will play hardball with B Hill, to get value from the front loaded contract other teams need to pay overs.

I would want more than their first - especially if the talk of the draft being weak is true.
If the first pick is #6 I would expect another high pick. The chance of us picking a player that will get close to being as good as BHill is small.
