Oh I get it, your one of those negative people whos never happy. Its an exciting time for people to get some new blood into the club so people are naturally excited. If that's not what your into then don't post and let other people enjoy.
Your the type of bloke that whenever someone posts something positive about the club you shoot it down with crap answers like "lynch, young, russell".
sorry if I gave you coitus interruptus ... please ... carry on... keep feelin it

Lock this guy into a long term contract Pies. Absolute genius at his craft and one of the key figures in breaking our premiership drought.

Considering we've played finals 8 years in a row it is a credit to him and his team that they have been able to bring in six first round picks (incl Adams) in the last two years.

In Hine We Trust!

Totally agree, would hate to lose this guy to Carlton. It would burn me the most.

Don't forget, Bucks has the final say.

Yeah hats off to bucks! Although I don't think he would need to have the final say. He would just need to say Hine do your magic.

Bucks does deserves credit for bringing so much youth into the team and giving them game time when he could have stuck with older boys.

jock, ted & gerry. :p

as ive said elsewhere, this years draft will be boring. no hidden jewel. just 2 top 10 players that are relatively obvious.

damn
True, unless Hine rips out a name that's not even spoken about in the top 10 lol.

What im more interested to know is Hine under contract? Hes one guy I couldn't handle to lose to the filth, the most important guy to Collingwood in my opinion.
Been thinking this since this trade period started. Does anyone know was/is Hine close with MM like Butters, Daisy, et al?

This guy needs a mention, Hinedell are gods.

Completely agree, he's been overlooked.

2005 was a cracker year, but arguably next best two are the last two ( though perhaps its a tad premature to say that yet) and Rendell had a huge say with the three SA boys from last year.

Conlon.. gone from top 10 to rookie because of an injury or something.. 197cm beautiful kicking action etc

Reading up on Conlon has me interested. But I guess any KPF does . Too bad we don't have a second rounder, as I think he'd be worth a punt at 31 or whatever we had (after compensation picks).

Young
Lynch
Russell

Do people that peddle stuff like this even know what they're talking about?

Remind me what those 3 players cost us? If anything at all? Not every single coach is going to nail every single trade/drafting choice, but as long as the "mistakes" don't cost you anything, what's the problem?

Brody Grundy cost us pick 18.

Danny Roach cost us pick 7.

I think MM deserves some credit for this as well... Although the way some people on this board talk about him you wouldn't think so...

Most - apart from the Mick acolytes - would probably admit to being ambivelent about him.

Yes he did win us a flag and put us into position to win another few, but its very hard to forgive his egotistical grandstanding right on the eve of the '11 finals series which may have cost us back to back flags.

It is not technically right to say he cost us back to back flags - he did get us the first one... The way you said it it sounds like you think he lost us two flags...

And some might argue that it was injuries (and a great team in Geelong) that cost us in '11. Some might even go as far as saying that it was Mick's coaching and gameplan that took us to the grand final that year. Maybe (I know this is a stretch) but just maybe some people might argue that the team's performance in 2011 had more to do with the senior coach than the recruiter...

I know, I know, some people are crazy.

It's all a matter of viewpoints JB I know from my viewpoint that the senior coach going onto a nationally televised football show and ripping into his own club on the eve of the finals is in fact unforgiveable. It's the act of a spoiled brat, not a senior and well respected coach. His outburst against Milne is another indicator of a man who believes himself untouchable, and don't get me started on his treatment of football journalists and the wider media family.

As for his time leading up to '10, no he didn't cost us any flags through poor coaching although his refusal to admit he was wrong in forcing a young Wes Fellows to ruck unsupported for most of his career is another indication of willful stubborness.

As to his match day coaching. . . WHAT matchday coaching??? Leaving an obviously wounded Reid on the rampaging Tomahawk???

Forgive my bluntness mate but as a matchday coach Mick STUNK.

So to wrap it up - great coach for bringing on young blokes (especially those not overburdened with natural talent), had the ability to engender loyalty. BUT has only one game plan with no fall back, refuses to make matchday moves when they are obviously necessary. Petulant, arrogant and self centered.

Thanks Mick for the flag, for which you will always have my respect but never darken my doorstep again.

we should hire the GWS recruiter

Bent us over in the Shaw trade, they get Shaw plus part salary paid for a bloke no one ever heard of until this draft period!

what a gun recruiter!

(just sour, i'll get over it :( )

Another excellent trade period from Collingwood. Hine seems to be very good at this.
Adams is a fantastic get for the club, very talented and fits need.
Now bring on picks 6 and 10.
