hope not. JH has said he wants to tell his side. Now's his chance. Even if it's BS it will be interesting to see his perspective
Time will tell.

I really hope he explains a few things, but I just get the feeling this will be more of an ass-covering exercise.

I dont believe Dank went rogue, I think he failed to realise he was now using a banned substance. He used TB4 legally the year before at Cronulla, and it wasnt until McKenzie told him in 2013 that it was banned that he changed his story
Sorry. I'm following what you were saying better now I think.

So did Hird change his story at the same time though. The unlikely thymomodulin tale seemed to have been built for purpose after the McKenzie interview emerged.

you think other AFL coaches double check what substances their sports science team are using?

The text messages from Hird show that he was keen on the program and knew Thymo was being used. Hard to understand why he put more trust in Dank than Reid.

I think he probably used thymomodulin as well This is based on texts showing he wanted to use it at melbourne which were well before the blackest day. Otherwise Melbourne look to have escaped a massive shit storm. I hope not. I hope Dank actually did use thymomodulin and TB4 at essendon

Maybe. I don't totally rule out the dark possibility that Melbourne totally escaped a massive shit storm. If you follow the CAS extrapolation from Dank and Earl, then Dank and Essendon - then look at the Dank Melbourne involvement, it's more than a disturbing idea

of course he knew thymosin was used, they all did. It was openly listed on the consents as WADA compliant.

So he met with Dank and Robinsin in his house where they outlined the amazing effects that the 'good Thymo' would have on the players. Hird approved it's use and did nothing more, other than ignoring Dr Reid's advice.

well Melbourne were smart enough to let their doctor supervise Dank. What a crying shame our club didnt do the same!!

Where did he ignore Reid's advice? When Reid complained to Hird it was about AOD which he subsequently approved for use.

It was written in the judgement that Hird ,Robinson and Dank were at the meeting where consents were signed. Are you telling me that Hird somehow missed Dank and Robinson telling the players Reid approved the substances. The protocols clearly stated Reid had to give Hird his recommendation on each substance.

Maybe Hird took Robinson at his word when he said Reid approved all the substances

Anyone hear the comment by Robbo on 360 the other night, he said Dimwittio had contacted him and warned him that by supporting Hird he was backing the wrong horse, apparently he told Robbo that he had information that Robbo didn't know about, now I wouldn't trust either of these clowns but it was an interesting comment.

how professional of robbo

Was TB4 one of the peptides he was talking about here?

Sometime prior to 12 March 2012, Mr. Charter introduced Mr. Dank to Sergio Del Vecchio, a businessman. They met and Mr. Dank spoke about peptides. Mr. Del Vecchio has stated that he questioned Mr. Dank about whether he was allowed to use peptides on professional athletes. Mr. Del Vecchio did his own investigations regarding whether peptides mentioned by Mr. Dank were banned and found that they were. He communicated this information to Mr. Dank.

That is a year prior to Baker and McKenzie interview then. Dank appears to be a wee bit forgetful when people tell him something is on the banned list. Doesn't seem to stick in his head for very long.

They do now;)
I'd even be surprised if they did now TBH

As I've said, Dank used TB4 at Cronulla in 2011 when it wasnt prohibited. He didnt realised it became prohibited by 2012

Assume he was prepared to take the risk of not being caught. His job as a consultant was dependent on getting noticeable results - this was weighed up against what he thought was a narrow chance for bad fallout.

TBH, this is my main reason for supporting the continuation of the WADA code in team sports. There will always be people who do a risk assessment and decide to operate a drugs regime in a highly lucrative industry with the idea that if there isn't a test for it, it's worth the risk.

Hird to announce he is suing the EFC, the AFL, ASADA, WADA, the 4 prime ministers in power over the term of this debacle, every big footy poster who has dared to ridicule him, in fact everyone apart from Stephen Dank :D

He needs to be careful. He may end up suing himself accidentally.

My guess:
- Dank told Hird that he could compound it thus making it not against the WADA code
- Hird said he approved that if it isn't against the code (but probably knowing that if he investigated he'd find that it was against the code)

That doesn't explain why he got the players to not tell ASADA about it. Or maybe it sort of does.

Now I think I am finally getting the Herald Sun's strategy in hiring that fat slobbering moron as their Chief Football Writer.

It is because he is such an idiot that he gets the big interviews as people like Hird know they can manipulate him.

Surely this is the only reason.

Can't wait for his amazing questions.

I just would have thought that someone like Hird may have gone to the trouble of doing a little research into the stuff that Dunk was giving the players, or at least making a phone call to WADA. Wouldn't have taken long.

Hird did do his research....and he did make a phone call...to his old mate Shane Charter

4 Corners vid 9.20 min mark was a nice warning to Hirdy to button up.
