The best show of support is for Essendon supporters becoming members and fronting up to games.the club needs to come together with a show of support now IMO
I disagree. The vast majority of Esendon would believe the players were unwilling parties to any rule breaches, and deserve support now more than ever. The best show of support is for Essendon supporters becoming members and fronting up to games.
This is not a show of support. It is sticking a finger up to the world of athletics and keeping the banned players on the front page when they should be serving their time quietly.
Unwilling?I disagree. The vast majority of Esendon would believe the players were unwilling parties to any rule breaches, and deserve support now more than ever.
im saying I and most essendon supporters dont believe the players set out to cheatUnwilling?
You make it sound like they were forced at gunpoint.
I've said the first and second year players I can excuse somewhat, but the senior group knew this was so different to anything else they'd experienced.
They were lined up and jabbed multiple times for what? It must have been to improve performance!!!!!! Didn't they even realise they were getting performance enhancing drugs? They knew enough to demand consents yet these appeared after 3 months of constant jabbing of god knows what (yes we do) when they made their greatest gains in muscle bulk. It was during that time that there are zero records and Doc Reid was completely in the dark about what was being given.
And you call that unwilling? Rubbish.
Maybe. But they blatantly broke the rules whether intentional or not. And because they concealed their activities they are paying the price. Why should they be honored for that?im saying I and most essendon supporters dont believe the players set out to cheat
To make a clear start, is it wise to invite Mr Hird to be at the March?you're entitled to your view but I completely disagree. Essendon are in for a difficult year, and the players are no doubt suffering. I think it's great the fans want to stand behind the club and players and look towards the future together. This is why a 100 year old club cannot be defined by 1 poor year, it's so much more than some stupid mistakes made 4 years ago
as I see it they arent being honoured, more supportedMaybe. But they blatantly broke the rules whether intentional or not. And because they concealed their activities they are paying the price. Why should they be honored for that?
Which is why I posted what I thought support was.as I see it they arent being honoured, more supported
so when players are injured and carried off on a stretcher the standing ovation is honouring their achievement?Which is why I posted what I thought support was.
Giving them a standing ovation and cheering is what people do when they honour others achievements.
I thought it was a way of thanking them for their efforts for their respective club…..Doesn't really fit either definition really.so when players are injured and carried off on a stretcher the standing ovation is honouring their achievement?
No, it's a show of support
im saying I and most essendon supporters dont believe the players set out to cheat
thats not my point. Essendon fans arent celebrating players who wanted to cheat just to stick it to ASADA, they are supporting players who they believe were caught in an unfortunate situation which was not their designThat's not the point. They are guilty of doping and it's final.
Well people acknowledge injured players for different reasons. For me its to show support and wish them good luck. Personally I would like the suspended players to know we the fans are behind them and are keen for them to play for essendon again in 2017. It certainly isnt celebrating taking TB4I thought it was a way of thanking them for their efforts for their respective club…..Doesn't really fit either definition really.
If the club wanted to reunite with the fans they could have done it by having a big day at HQ.as I see it they arent being honoured, more supported
Well, I would have thought that that could be done quietly and personally like twitter, instagram etc etc. A large gathering is not for the players. It is to display to everyone else your feelings. And that is what makes others feel uncomfortable about it.Personally I would like the suspended players to know we the fans are behind them and are keen for them to play for essendon again in 2017. nothing like a huge gathering to demonstrate strength, resolve and commitment. A gathering will show that far more than likes on FBWell, I would have thought that that could be done quietly and personally like twitter, instagram etc etc. A large gathering is not for the players. I disagree. A large gathering that has been advertised widely for the world to see is all about grand standing. They could have quietly organised a large gathering through the club email to members.nothing like a huge gathering to demonstrate strength, resolve and commitment. Yes. Succinctly put. They bought shame on their club and on the sport in general.Maybe. But they blatantly broke the rules whether intentional or not. And because they concealed their activities they are paying the price. Why should they be honored for that?
well essendon are a big 4 and demonstrating their strength and size despite the last 3 years will be enjoyable to see as a supporterI disagree. A large gathering that has been advertised widely for the world to see is all about grand standing. They could have quietly organised a large gathering through the club email to members.
foaming at its frothiestEssendon can chest beat all they like but the average football fan will see it for exactly what it is... The club again refusing the accept reality and trying to twist history.
Guilty drug cheats - oh how proud we are, let us march as one.
It's basically a gathering of fools and nothing else.
