Had his lowest game possession wise today and still racked up 102 champion data (Supercoach) ranking points. The value he gives is amazing.

- 9 of those 11 possessions were contested.

- Only one of his disposals was inefficient (wasn't a clanger though) 91% efficiency.

- 4 of his disposals were clearances.

- 4 of them were inside 50.

- One was a direct goal assist.

- One was a booming goal from outside 50.

- Also laid 8 Tackles.

- He had 4 free kicks paid to him because he is a hard little shit!

What a champion he is going to be after a couple more pre-seasons and gets a midfielders tank in him. He came last in our time trial... the room for improvement is immense.

The room for improvement isnt immense. Hes going to be a great player but he isnt gonna improve that much other than get a bigger fitness base.

Good thing is he doesnt have to improve really. Already a future AA star

Yeah, but a bigger fitness base is all he needs. I see your point though.

He does everything else brilliantly, just needs the fitness to get to more contests.

Quite good.

So good, in fact, that someone should start a new thread whenever he scores 100 or more Super Coach points.

Don't be snarky. If we did that there would be a new thread every week.

The use of Champion Data ranking points/disposals is a pretty good gauge of efficiency.

could you please stop your love affair with Daniel Rich?

Yes he is good. But there are other good young players around, not just Daniel Rich :p

Well in reality every single youngster in the comp needs a bigger fitness base. Natanui, Hill even Ziebell have all struggled with fitness so far.

So what you are basically saying is that he contributed to ONE goal before the last 2 minutes of the last quarter?
I suppose winning clearances and delivering inside 50 wouldn't have created chances?

Little tip: Goal assists only account for direct assists.

Rich would've created more than one goal indirectly.

No, I believe the key word he used was direct 'goal assist'.

You show me a midfielder who can score over 100 ranking points with 11 touches, and... well... I'll probably be looking at Daniel Rich.

So would've most of his team mates. Not just Rich on the park.

I love all these people that use Champion Data ranking points to decide if a player has played well.

Would he have been better than Brown, Power, Black, Roe?

This might be a little premature but:

Daniel Rich is undoubtedly on track to become the greatest player the world has ever seen.

Fifty years from now people are to be saying, nay shouting; 'Daniel Rich! he was really good wasn't he!?'

Remember these early days so you can tell your kids children when you are old and desperate for attention, 'I was there litle johhny, watching at home on my plasma tv when Daniel Rich began his incredible journey....'

Ready made gun, not sure where he can improve his game other than fitness.

I was talking to a Lions recruiter the other day and they reckon if we were back in the 70's where you could pick anyone, Rich would have played senior footy at 16 a la Watson at 15.

Here is a thread from another forum after he dominated the WAFL as a 17 year old.

edit: oh, mustn't be allowed to post links to other footy forums. Well it's basically a bloke predicting everything Rich is doing now, over 2 years ago...

In a few years when he comes home we will have one of the best Ruck setups in the legue with Naita feeding it down to him.

Exciting times ahead :thumbsu:
