How much would you pay Josh Jenkins?

Clearly he doesn't work for Foxtel, but Jenkins obviously had an issue with recent commentary and thought Roo may have had something to do with it so raised it with the club so they could look into it. Pretty big story for a player to be accusing a board member of playing the media to reduce his contract.

Media discussion and opinions can have an influence on how other clubs perceive a player and the leverage a player has in negotiating a new contract, probably not a lot but I wouldn't say it is nonexistent.
Most thought the live cross to kingy's taped Joe the goose comments during the weagles game was wierd... But I doubt that had anything to do with roo.

Hutchy is just trying to throw flames based on no substance.

It'll be just as big a story if Hutchy is wrong...again, and is talking bullshit...again/still.

Definitely one of the most bizarre things I have ever seen from Kingy, and that is saying quite a bit.

No substance? Jenkins and his camp obviously thought there was something more to it or else he wouldn't have raised the issue with the head of football and seemingly leaked this fact to a journalist. It doesn't seem like Roo personally told Kingy to do a segment on Jenkins, but it isn't at all a stretch for Roo to be talking as mates with Kingy about how Jenkins is viewed internally at the club (ie. lots of easy goals) and then for Kingy to run and do a segment on it.

Did Hutchy say he spoke to Josh Jenkins and that Josh Jenkins told him.....?

No. You can listen to what he says on the 'sounding board' podcast on iTunes if you want. Starts at around 22min, speaks for a while on it. I'll get out of here, just wanted to alert you guys to what Hutch is claiming.
I went back and read the article that first mentioned it. Roo didn't actually deny the accusation, he went off on a tangent about Carey and King having minds of their own and saying what they think. He muscled up and said “Hutchy, if you are accusing me, you better just be a little bit careful.” He didn't actually say 'no that didn't happen'

Very interesting indeed.

Really? Hutch said Kingy also got very defensive about it on the phone and didn't deny it either. Then basically confirmed that he had spoken with Roo about Jenkins multiple times. I honestly think it is a case of Roo being privy to the internal negotiations of how Adelaide perceive Jenkins and then talking about it to his mates when he definitely shouldn't.

Roo has denied it & suggested hutchy better be careful not to defame.

I trust roo over hutchy!

I think king denied it too.

I listened and I'm pretty sure he did deny it.

I believe theres enough smoke to think that JJ did go to Noble to ask questions about what was being said about his value in the media and if it was driven by Roo.
Thats a pretty dissapointing thing to hear coming out of the club.
I dont know whos in the right or wrong, but I would have hoped that things were tighter than that between players and admin at the club.

If any club's recruiting team is swayed by what Carey and King say about a player in the media when considering him, I would be concerned about that recruiting team.

I am sure Hamish Ogilvie sweats on the reporting of Emma Quayle* in regards to draftees.

*Is a poor example as Quayle does know her stuff compared to Carey and King who are just media muppets. But you get what I mean.

Did I get the chronology correct in what Hutchy said?
1) Hutchy states that there's a rumor that Roo may have said something to King and Duck about JJ that may have influenced both King and the Carey to publically state that JJ isn't worth $750K.
2) Hutchy states that JJ went to Noble and asked if Roo was talking to his mates, King and Carey, about him.

I don't know if there's truth in what Hutchy has said. The one thing that I would like to know is (if the reports are correct), did JJ go and talk to Noble after he heard from Hutchy's report that Ricciuto may have talked to Carey and King or right after king and Carey made their statement?
As an example, have any of you made the inference that the reason Carey and King gave their views on JJ's value, was because Ricciuto got into their ears?
And, if so, do you think JJ have would have come to the same deduction?
