I wouldn't be surprised if they make the GF. Honestly.
Having said that, it is St. Kilda. So I also wouldn't be overly shocked if they shit the bed and finished in the bottom 4.

No one fears clubs run by messiahs and control freaks. Once they are out of form or their egos get too big you go nowhere. And they hard to get rid of.
RTB has been out of form for a while, and he didn’t have the vision to see Collingwood/Carlton were top 4 clubs. Perhaps he realised they’d never let him steer the boat completely.

I'm not convinced he runs St. Kilda as is being reported. But for argument's sake, let's say he is...
Whilst history says you're right, I reckon if there is a control freak type guy running the joint, I believe they do get a year or two where they have a chance at glory. After that, it crumbles. If they don't get the success they sold to everyone, pressure comes. And when pressure comes, bad decisions are made. Self preservation, and ego take over and decisions start being made for the wrong reasons. Paranoia and blame bring it all down.
So if Lyon is the control freak that is running the whole show - I don't see it as an issue in the short term (ie. the next 1-2 years). Providing his 'way' is sound, then he will have everyone on board and pulling in the same direction. If after the next 2 years they're not on the precipice, then they're screwed.
But let's be honest, why was Simon Lethlean ever involved in footy stuff anyway??
Considering we finished the year with 23 Premiership players and the poor old Saints have 20 in their pretty sad life I’d suggest history would say there’s not a lot to worry about. Again.

No, not only however Carlton supporters have probably been the worst. (Mainly due to a few individuals and is not reflective of you all as a whole)
Carlton themselves have an incredibly poor record since the turn of the century, an even worse record than St Kilda.
You guys are not in a position to be taking stabs like that without getting shots back.
