I was watching Chriss Judd earlier and they were talking about his retirement and it made me think that once he hangs up the boots, I still feel like im going to remember him as Judd the eagle and not Judd the blue

Then I thought about Gazza Jnr and I think to me now he will be Gazza the Gold coast sun and not the Cat

I have no reason or theory as to why thats the case

So how will you guys remember Judd Ablett and other big Multiple club players , the same could be asked of Thomas, Franklin and Goddard in a few years when they retire

Judd will be a Blue.
Gazza will be split, but more talked about as a Cat.
Thomas will be a Pie.
Franklin will most likely be a Hawk, unless he plays for most of his 9 year contract.
Goddard is a Saint.

Personally I remember Judd as an eagle - so dynamic and explosive.
Ablett will be remembered as both a Sun and a Cat - Both due to the family connection at the Cats, and the first captain of a new franchise.
Franklin will be remembered for his 3 strikes as a Hawthorn player.

I think it will largely depend on how long each player plays once they have switched clubs.

Judd might end up spending more years at Carlton (depending on if he retires this year or keeps playing) but i would think he would be remembered more as an Eagle (premiership captain). He might have achieved some personal accolades at the Blues but he wasn't able to achieve team success.

Ablett should be remembered more for his time at Geelong, we shall see when his career is officially over (one could argue as to whether his shoulder reconstruction will "slow" him down to the rest of the players level now or if he'll still outshine everyone for the next 2-3-4-5 years) and then judge his time at the Gold Coast Suns. But the reality is that he is a two time premiership player for the Cats, a vital cog in their match day setup. And being Geelong royalty. He hasn't done much at the GCS beyond being captain and winning a brownlow medal by default.

On the other hand with Ablett and Judd when people discuss them in years to come, they might refer to the player's themselves rather than the clubs they played for.

Franklin will be remembered in a "what could have been" scenario because of the way he left Hawthorn...................... even more so if he ends up not fulfilling his contractual obligations (willing to bet he will be "retired" in 2-3 years time).

Success can play a part in how players are remembered. Stewy Dew is an example, would have only been remembered as a Power player if it weren't for 08. Dal Santo is obviously a Saint but if north were to win a flag with him there I'd probably see it a little differently not unlike Luke Ball.

I won't remember Thomas at all. I'll just try and wash his memory away.

I'll remember Uncle Pauly as a Don !!
