Dont' know how I missed this thread. Love a pissed music chat!

Heard a Dave Faulkner interview where he said Miss Free Love was a true story when he was living in Japan. Big orgy formed and someone called the cops, who on arrival just joined in! So Rock and Roll.

Any who:

D.C - such a brilliant song

I've been listening a bit to the hoodoos lately. They have so many hits, they should be bigger. I read an article that Dave Faulkner said they worked too hard and toured too much. They were always playing in the late 80s/early 90s so became a bit meh.

All my friends are dead or they're dying!

It's becoming a bit true.
Reckon they played my uni every year I was there in the early 90s, ,,,,,,probably did so at a whole heap of others around the country too. They were flipping awesome......As a side note, some other reasonably big names played too for a uni gig, Oils, Hunters, Nick Cave, but Hoodoo's were head and shoulders the best live gig.

Im with you. Saw them at Wellington Town Hall in late 80's. Think they were pleasantly surprised by the packed crowd in NZ, so they were having a ball

Oil's in early 80's were a top gig too

I am floored finding the Goat have been out performing!

Can’t link the clip here but type in TISM at YouTube for a December 2nd 2022 performance of 1 hour length

And who?

A funny reminisce especially of the early days. The name of the Murrumbeena Concert says it all…

Hot days (37 here) all ways remind me of:

And from this window
I can see the street below
I can hear the hit parade
On the radio
There's dirty dishes,
piling up in the sink
but its too hot to move
and its too hot to think
Yep, that’s on my "heatwave" playlist that gets a run whenever I decide to get in the pool

Also, this is a pretty engaging watch if you haven’t seen it …

I once heard some random media personality talking on twitter or something about an uncomfortable flight. Apparently they'd been getting stuck into Mike Tyson a bit in their commentary recently and then lo and behold they get on a plane and who should sit down next to them but the man himself. He knew, they both knew. Which is obviously awkward but probably not as awkward as me immediately going straight to a joke about how uncomfortable it is being stuck on a plane next to someone that insists on chewing your ear off during the flight.

Reminds me of another time when Mike had Boosy on his podcast not long after Boosy said some homophobic stuff. Tysons daughter is gay and when she found out that Boosy was there, jumped on a plane and went to the studio to confront him. Mike had no idea what was going on, but man Boosy must’ve been shitting himself.

Tyson said later that he felt bad because if it turned nasty he would had to beat Boosy even though he thought his daughter was out of order.

Scary dude. I’d say without gloves on, even at his age, Tyson could easily kill somebody with one decent punch.

My favourite Tyson quote is “The internet has allowed people to be rude to people without worrying they’ll get knocked out”
