I want both and I don't think prestia is worth pick 6. Presumably that is why the trade has not gone through.

From our point of view, It's better to lose something you never had. Gold Coast will fold at the last minute just like Carlton.

So we are doing a half/mini rebuild before our core group gets too old, which might get us back into the 8 at best. Ooooookaaaay
thats because us fans are to impatient.

go figure thats it seems that the majority of fans want us to start a rebuild by keeping our draft picks though.

You overrate him massively. FFS, you just argued on the previous page that he's better than Mitchell.

Have you watched him play or do you just read the stats? He might get good numbers, but as a footballer he's a slight upgrade on Miles, with far less durability. Much like Miles you can't play him anywhere else either, he's an inside mid without the capability to even rest forward, or deliver off half-back. Inside mids with no positional flexibility are a dime a dozen, it's the KPPs and elite skill players that can play multiple roles who are harder to find, and they are nearly always found at the top of the draft.

Miles' best is B grade. Prestia's best is A grade. Can't compare the 2.

Tom Mitchell is strictly an inside mid too. He can't play any other position and has only really had one good season. Before 2016, Prestia was the better player. Look back to 2014, Prestia was very good.

Prestia's best is A grade.

Thank you for confirming that you've never actually watched Prestia play.

It's irrelevant, I acknowledged Prestia as being an upgrade on Miles, but the difference is marginal and the price is exorbitant.

Something terribly wrong with our processes and long term planning. It all stems imo from the clubs inability to judge exactly where we are at.

The list itself is shizen. The lack of quality the lack of depth and the almost total lack of good list structure is mind boggling. Yet so many people are unwilling to accept the fact we need to engage in a massive overhaul of the list and the only way to do that is embrace the ND.
People and the club must realise and admit the previous 7 yrs under this regime have been a failure that there are no fast fixes for us the shambolic state of the list tells us this. What needs to be done can not be done in one or two seasons.

If the club had any sort of vision it would realise we are in no position to challenge and instead of chasing after the big fish or going hard at b grade players with very valuable nd picks it should be investing heavily into the ND. Instead of chasing players they should be chasing ND PICK. We should be looking at ways to get a top 3 pick keep pick 6 gain a pick in the teens and even a few second rounders.

I suppose we all have differing views on how we should go about it, unfortunately this draft is all about Mids and we need to get our hands on the better ones but personally i think our tall stocks outside of two High quality players is so poor it is criminal. Yet it seems at no stage have this mob even looked at tall players apart from Nankervis.
The incompetence is palpable.

The problem is we can't go all in with Dimma at the helm and his putrid game plan.

If he coaches like this year, we have no chance what so ever.
That is because the list is so poor.

Stats for Prestia points Source Footywire
2014 22 100.4
2015 8 95.9
2016 14 92.9

Stats for Miles
2014 12 89.7
2015 22 87.6
2016 19 86.4

The difference between Miles and Prestia is about 300k per year and Miles didn't cost us anything but a preseason pick. Prestia may cost us pick 6

Given the output Prestia is way over valued

And for those who are going to have a go at Miles for games played, since he was picked in the seniors in 2014 he has only missed three games.

We folded, 19 for Yarran because we felt we had an obligation to get a deal done after chasing a player. We will do the same with Prestia and go and beg for a pick in the 30's.

Prestia isnt worth pick 6. Thats obvious.

Why are gws and gold coast so keen to load up on early picks?

they must have some absolute gun kids in their academies and want to hold on to them. Gws just made a prelim and they still want a bunch of early picks. They can gagf.

We must use pick 6 to take one of the academy kids to force gws and gc to goto plan b,c or and then pick the best kid available after that.

Its simple but it seems we make a meal of it every year while other clubs nail it every year.

The more I think about it the more I feel we need to back ourselves in at the draft and get as many early picks as possible. Let's be realistic guys. Jack, Rance, Cotchin and Dusty are all A-Graders and in 3 years time they'll still be around and we can have a good crack at it. Bringing in a Caddy or Prestia will get us a couple more wins right now even possibly help get us into a finals series but they won't win us a flag. Our list needs a major overhaul and the problem at the moment is the pressure from what I call the "idiot" supporters who post on the facebook pages and send letters in threatening to turf their memberships is what the club is caving into.

I still think Carlton are doing it better then us by understanding their position and getting as many early picks as possible. It still doesn't feel the club has a direction in what it wants to it. The off season strategy appears to be getting players in for the sake of landing a big fish and appeasing the supporters then when it goes all wrong they can say well we went out and took a risk that didn't pay off. The problem is that the risk may set us back even further.

mitchell was a brownlow medalist in 2012 and last week won his 5th club B&F .
He has also had less games out in the last 4 years due to injury. He went pick 88.

Richmond should not fold to the external pressure of landing a big fish and realise that a out of sample of hardcore Richmond fans we would rather pass on prestia and keep pick 6, we owe nothing to prestia and we should let him know that his club were not being realistic or willing to work out a proper deal.

RFC_Official please listen to these threads and pass these posts on before the club makes a monumental mistake that we will rue for the next 10-12 years!!!

Spot on I have been talking about vision for ages. It needs to come from the top the middle the bottom. Is it any mistake we are a rabble? No we have planned our own shit .

Yes RFC_Official please take note that while this may be a small proportion of RFC members its an overwhelming no on bring Prestia in for pick 6
150 votes is actually a reasonable sample size when the difference in voting is so huge. If it was 60:40 or even 70:30 it would be seen as too small to make a call. However this is 89:11. It is highly significant.
