If Neil Craig gets the sack then I expect

Reilly needed to be traded three years ago, I believe I was screaming for it at the time and got howled down and called an idiot as per usual, you deadset right though we trade Reilly for another Reilly:rolleyes: at least three seasons ago he had currency:(

I LOVE being RIGHT and proving alot of people WRONG on this board:D

You werent alone. I also wanted Griffin gone when we could have got something for both of them. We basically will get the same thing we got for Griffin, stuff all if we move on Reilly.

Kevin Foley?
Back to the topic at hand though, van Berlo is a good solid AFL standard player who I have a lot of time for. But he just isn't ever going to be anything more than that.

Would be interesting to see what a new coach would do with all of our old structures, I doubt he would remove VB from the captain's slot but I depending on the coach I could see them adding Thompson to a co-captains position

I would expect to see some improvement in our player development.
I've asked this before and I'll ask it again. Name ONE player who's second 40 games have been better than their first 40 games under Craig? Not one name was put forward last time i asked this question.

I'd get rid of Reilly as well, he provides nothing and he's the worst best kick i've seen, the number of time he mungs it is frightening.

As for VB well he's fast becoming our Richie Vandenberg, at this point i'd have him at South. That passage of play in the first quarter when he's loose running free down the outer wing, a goal beckoning, perfect kick and in typical style - completely ****s it up. I wouldn't accept it from Cook and it blows me away we just accept his 3-4 howlers a game. Not good enough.

I always wondered why Reilly hasn't been more of a success. He seemed like a good attacking midfielder with a booming kick. He used to be really efficient with his disposal as well. I wonder if his role in recent years as a tagger has really negated any attacking flair he once had. Seems like a guy who could benefit from a coach who plays him to his strengths.

Reilly's main problem has always been the peanut where his brain should be. One of the worst decision makers I've ever seen in any professional sport. Horrendous.

You'd have to delist Reilly wouldnt you, who would want him.

I thought VB was growing into the captaincy after the Hawks game. But he is not. Big mistake to pick a popular bloke as captain and not the real leader of the club. Ben Rutten should have been Captain with Thommo his VC and Danger DVC.

VB and Reilly are the posterchilds of our issues right now. Not enough quality in the 25-28 year old prime on the field. Thommo Stiffy and Rutten are it.

I think you're being very harsh on Douglas here.

Dont want to trade for another Reilly, would be happy with a few powerades and a late pick

If you watch Reilly play he nearly always looks sideways for the cheap kick. He never creates anymore. Several times this season im sure I have seen him cross the ball, or go short down the boundary with free players screaming at him from the centre of the ground.

VB, well he is an honest trier. But he does make too many mistakes. Perhaps AFL standard, but not captain material.

our team is full of players who would benefit from a coach who plays them to their strengths... Danger... hell, if our footballers were being used as footballers instead of keepys-off soccer players...

his poor decision making could be a result of indecision caused by his natural instincts conflicting with craigs gameplan

Why does this board have to resort to the abuse of players as they do? In any workplace no-one would get away with comments that denigrate someone the way they do on here. The exaggerated abuse once again makes me wonder why people would want to play for the Adelaide Football Club. They obviously do not go out onto the field and deliberately try to play as badly as they can.

I believe they at least deserve some respect. :(

I'd hate to see this board if all the experienced players are dropped and the young ones take over and they don't live up to expectations.

No one???

I thought as much. This alone is enough to have him sacked. How is he going to rebuild the list if he cant develop players???
If he had developed the players who are now around the 23/24 year old mark, we wouldnt be in the position we now find ourselves in.

Porps might of made it in as one who had improvrd but for injuries. A recurring problem also. I thought he was a fitness guru......lol. Absolutly no substance to back that up either.

The guy is a dumb footballer. End of story.

If you want to use workplace examples, a very well renumerated employee who is performing diabollically would cop it big time as well. In fact, they'd probably get the arse.

A couple of weeks ago I said he has improved and will hopefully grow into the role. However, the last few weeks he has genuinely been poor. His turnovers are really hurting but then he has a few mates in that department.
