I think the kids are great. It's a memory that will stay with them for a life time. It's one of the few things the AFL does right.

Incredibly unpopular opinion: I hate the Auskick kids presenting the Premiership medals

Why? They are possibly asked who their favourite players are, and the role model of an aboriginal boy may be the likes of a Burgoyne or a Rioli. It gives them a chance to meet and shake the hand of their favourite player.
I've read some incredibly pathetic things on Big Footy over the years, but the O P and some of the other comments in here definitely take the cake. Just ridiculously stupid.

And players running out with their kids for milestone games also sucks big time. It should be banned.

Must say, the Hawks players were all very good with the kids today. Usually you get one or two that are too high on adrenaline that they forget the routine, or push the kid off or whatever, but not today.
Special mention to Hale and Hodge. Hope the kids remember that forever.

This year was similar to 2007 though, in that the players were well aware they were premiers long before the game finished. So they are more relaxed than in years where the presentation is less than ten minutes after a nailbiter finish which could have gone either way. If you've known since three quarter time that the game is won it's easier to remember the stuff like acknowledging the kids.

Perhaps they could maybe present youth/kid sized caps instead of some ginormous thing that mostly covered the kids whole face too!
Perhaps an autograph on the peak would be good also.
But, ultimately this would be just a fantastic memory for those kids. My boy's favourite sports memory is being invited over to Melbourne to play a half-time game at the MCG a few years back. Just an awesome experience for a young boy.

I liked the big hats. Cute as. And it's something they can grow into.
And I agree 1000% on the autograph. The hats should be handed out earlier, with a sharpie, and really make the hats special.

I agree with the signature. Knowing little kids, they like to brag to their mates. There is always one which will call Bullshit, that signature will put an end to those bullshit calls.

Your rivals should have to give out medals....so Geelong players should have given out the medals yesterday. If port win the crows players have to give them the medals.

Players with their own kids handle it better than players without kids.I remember Cameron Mooney was always good with the kids presenting him with a medal whereas Shannon Byrnes first time he got his medal and walked off forgetting to give the kid his cap

This part is obviously scripted. Why is one kid wearing a mike and that kid happens to say something like that?

Would have looked good having the 1989 premiership team presenting the medals to the boys 25 years on.
Imagine seeing Dunstall, Brereton, Ayres, Tuck and Platten for example sharing in that joy and celebrating back to back flags as they did.

From memory I think he took a little bit longer than most just to kneel down and say his bit. Just a very genuine moment and you could tell he cared about giving the kid a memory.
