I dunno, I just expected more of a team ranked No. 1. Especially since poor old England have been all over the place form wise since the last (northern) summer.

Absolutely bizarre comment. It's been a very tight series right the way through. England have outplayed them in the decisive moments, but not comprehensively at all.

Quality innings from Jadeja. It’s a shame we can’t quite fit both him and Ashwin in the same team. Both of them bowling allrounders and just not consistent enough with the bat. Especially with most of the top 6 being ordinary.

I probably should have more faith in my own team, but I half expected India to wipe the floor against England. My surprise is that England stood up and played really well.

Pleases me immensely to see Cook go out of international cricket with such success. If there's been any one to deserve the fairytale finish, it's him.

To have survived the sheer volume of the shrill losers who came crawling out of the woodwork with such invective when he was simultaneously going through:
1) Taking the brunt of the Pietersen saga by being the visible face of the ECB due to poor PR
2) An Ashes humiliation
3) A real dip in form
4) A lot of upheaval in the background with coaching staff & structure

To have got through all of that without ever dropping his head or degrading the absolute class he carries himself with speaks volumes of his character. Those kind of experiences can easily have broken / seriously scarred / permanently embittered a cricketer yet is so damn zen and positive about the game he still wants to carry on playing for Essex in the championship. Legend.

So much so for India being the best team in the world lol, they are just like everyone else, dominant at home and average to poor away.

They've held up ok for the most part this series, but yes the wheels have basically fallen off in this final test.

Agreed. Losing 5/5 tosses didn’t help.

Outside of today and basically that entire Lords test which lasted about 2 1/2 days it’s basically been 50/50 most days.
