Injury Injuries 2024

Great to know we will likely see Libba, JJ, Coffield and Weightman set to return not long after the bye. As someone said, if we can get a couple of tough wins, and still have a few starters to return. Sets us up in good stead for the rest of the season.
For those who have seen him often, could Coffield play as a small defender alongside Jones + Keath + O’Donnell or is that too top heavy? Alternatively could he shift up to a wing or doesn’t have the tank?

Our injuries are starting to pile up and it seems we're just incredibly unlucky.

We've remarkably only had the one soft tissue (JJ?). The rest are close to unavoidable with knees (Smith, Naughton), head knocks (Libba, Richards, Scott) and a dislocated elbow (Weightman). That's probably 5 of our best 10 now.

Definitely 5 of our best 10.

And that's not counting Coffield, JJ and O'Donnell who would also be regular best 22 players.

Then there's Gardner and O'Driscoll.

That's almost a quarter of the list but hopefully we get JOD back next week.

Medial for Naughty, only expected to miss 4-6 weeks! Bullet dodged, that is really good news
That’s the best news we could have hoped for, it looked a lot worse than that. So glad he is not going to miss a whole year. Get better soon Astro

Only missing 3-5 games (considering we have a bye) is an incredible result..

Great news, but while we were going on with injury for a while, Smith, Naughton, Libba, Richards and JJ is a pretty reasonable list of players to have unavailable.

Plenty of opportunity for others to step up I guess but the timing isn’t amazing.

Wasn't any finals this year anyway.

But could set ourselves up for next year.

He never did an ACL in that game

“In 2019 he got that miracle – he left the ground in that elimination final against GWS, it looked for all the world as if there was an ACL tear. It turned out be a lateral ligament and he played again the next year.

Did hamper him early in the year. It was a significant one!

Wonder what’s happened to Clarke? Hopefully just a one weeker mystery injury.
