AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
Given his position change, re-injury worry and under-preparedness for this season, I would suggest him being suspended would actually HELP many people's teams ... especially the nuff nuffs
With petrie missing rounds 1 & 3 (bye), surely he's not worth starting with any more?

STAR Geelong midfielder Jimmy Bartel will be sidelined for two weeks after having his tonsils out on Tuesday.
Bartel has been struggling with tonsillitis during much of the pre-season, although he was an impressive performer in the Cats' victories over North Melbourne and the Bulldogs in round one of the NAB Cup.
Think he will be in doubt for round 10, let alone round 1.I think I read somewhere Ryan Hargrave was doubtful for Round 1. Does anyone know anything about this
The 2 weeks off for Jimmy could do a whole lot of good as well. head the tonsilitis hasnt done anything to his pre-season so after a good game on the weekend, 2 weeks off just before the start of the season could be a blessing in disguise. You'd think he'd still be able to swim/ride to keep his fitness levels up

That article would have me more worried about Chappy than Bartel.
I could do without Chappy in the starting team and using the 70K-100K elsewhere. You just know if you don't pick him and many others have him, he'll stay fit and burn you with regular 130s.
Tried saving $$ without Chappy in 2010, it was a long year.
Ive replaced him with a rookie and introduced Sandilands into my team. Had high hopes for Knights too, a top 5/6 player at the crows without injury
I agree ill probably be doing a similar thing to you, Knights has just had to many injuries to concern about this season for a player who may never become a keeper.
The highest he has ever avg is 87 and i want my 6th forward avg 85+ come towards the end of season. So he just sits above that. Having said this if named for round 1 would be an extremely hard player to leave out.
Leaving him out for a rookie makes my structure perfect.
I've replaced him with tippett. In games the crows won last year he averaged 79 and im tipping the crows to be big improvers this year.
The crows have some good youngsters sure, but you cant expect them to be consistantly performing well next year, like melbourne.
Remember the crows lost Mcleod, Burton, Goodwin, Bock, Edwards (you cant replace that overnight). Thats a big hole to fill and with Vince and Knights still very injury prone coming into the season they wont make big indents into the 8. I see them just outside the top 8. 10th-11th.
That is actually why the Crows will improve this year, they have removed the deadwood.
With the exception of Goodwin the others were no real loss, Bock had a very ordinary year last year. Mcleod, Burton and Edwards were past it.
What ever helps you sleep
What do you want to wager?
I bet the Crows finish better than they did last year. It won't be hard, now they have let the deadwood float away.
I see them just outside the top 8. 10th-11th.
