Re: 2011 Injuries Thread

Richmond seems pretty right, though Daniel Jackson apparently has some hamstring tendonitis

And Tom Hislop is still getting over knee surgery. But he's rubbish, so that shouldn't disturb anyone

"Adelaide reported a few minor casualties in the competitive, but sometimes scrappy affair.

Andy Otten (ankle), Chris Knights (corked quad) and Moran (poke in the eye) all left the field early, but are expected to play in the club’s NAB Cup-opener against Port Adelaide and Melbourne on February 11."

Otten & Knights huh... nah, a corkie & "ankle" with both expected to play doesn't sound to serious. Off topic a touch, if you read the article you'll notice Callinan sounds like he's firing pretty well pre-season.

While its slightly off topic, get callinan on your bench. He will be a cash cow this year.

As for Otten, if he doesnt play for us this week, it will be because the club is being extra cautious with him. The crows will plan to use around 35 players for NAB cup this Friday. My guess is that Otten and Knights will be used for one game and rested for the 2nd vs. Dees. As for other injured crows, Sam Jacobs split the webbing between his fingers, but should be ok to play NAB cup. Moran copped a finger in the eye, but should also play.

David Mackay is recovering from groin surgery and is due back round 2 or 3 of NAB cup (or for a trial match, depending whether they win). Vince is also expected to return in a couple weeks, but with his lack of preseason, I expect a drop in price while he regains some match fitness.

Aside from this, there arent too many other injuries to report for the crows.

Re: Injury & Suspension Reports & Discussion

Callinan from the Crows just had bicep ripped off bone 8-12 weeks, dam he was cheap and MPP, possible upgrade later I guess

Tippett and Henderson have hurt themselves too

Could mean the door has opened for McKernan

Big injury news at Adelaide today

ADELAIDE has suffered some potentially serious injury blows in its NAB Challenge game against Carlton, with Brodie Martin facing scans for a possible ACL injury and mature-age draftee Ian Callinan set to miss up to three months.

The club confirmed that Martin would have scans on the same knee he injured last season, with a spokesman noting that the injury "did not look good".

Kurt Tippett and Ricky Henderson also left the field in the first half.

Callinan has suffered a detached right bicep muscle and will miss 10 to 12 weeks.

ST KILDA defender Sam Fisher's night is over after suffering a hit to the head in Friday night's NAB Cup semi-final clash with Essendon.

Fisher went to ground after a marking contest early in the first quarter.

He came from the ground and went straight to the rooms.

Designated substitute Tom Simpkin entered the play shortly after Fisher's departure.
